The pre-season (?) is because I'm not aware of any preseason injuries which is nice, but I've been wrong before.

Just now got time to research them a little. I can't find anything concrete about their injury statuses, but I at least found pictures of binderup and Hutchins suiting up so I assume those two are healthy.

Debeic had TJ surgery in 2021 and I would think would be recovered by now, it was 6/2021 so maybe not though. Brauny commented on him in his fall report that he was an intriguing prospect (6-7 220 and throws 98)

Couldn't find any injury history for Lucas Kelly, I think he's just down the depth chart.

At Dugout Club lunch today, Schloss said Werner isn't running full speed yet and they are being really cautious. I'd be surprised if he plays this weekend.

Wasn't injury related to my knowledge. Just a real big spot in the game and needed to change it up. He did not play in the field after the PH.

Disagree. He (Schloss) was likely just following a hunch, but wish he'd let Kent hit (thought that before he struck out btw). I think Kent's already a better hitter than Trevor, and probably his equal as a fielder. Trev likely has a stronger arm however.

Sorry I wasn't intending to state an opinion just a fact - it was a big spot and clearly Schlos felt the need to change it up.

Now to my opinion - I am somewhat neutral on the move and definitely see your point. However don't hate it either. Kent has not been elevating the ball and is the team leader DPs. And we let LSU off the hook 3 innings in a row with twin killings today.

Good point about the DPs. And I far from ready to second guess Schloss. He has my complete confidence and knows his players extremely well. It was definitely THE biggest moment of the game. And it all worked out. But I'm really impressed with our younger players so far. We'll be fine.

Moved Werner to healed for DHing vs Rice and making it the whole game. Also Schloss said post game he's good to go.

Edit to add: going to keep an eye on Bost news.

On the radio, Rody said it was a result of him running so much. The way he talked about it, it didn't sound too serious. Poor guy. Just trying to do what he can.

When Werner hit that line-drive dinger last night, Boomer said "THAT is why Trevor will always be in the lineup!" The ability to do that to a baseball at any moment is unique! Just wish it happened with a little more frequency…

Interestingly mentioned Kent would be the 3rd catcher in the mean time.

Last Tuesday celebrating the walkoff win, he jumped over the dugout fence and landed on Chestnut's foot. Broke his foot. Out 6 weeks.
