Has anyone heard why most Friday and Tuesday games will start at 6 and not 6:30?

With 6:30 start times I was already struggling to get off work, go home to change and get my personal vehicle, get food, and get to the stadium.

It's because our team likes 5 hour games

On this subject, screw Saturday games at 2 pm.

Move them back to the night slots. It only bolsters the atmosphere, especially when it gets brutally hot outside.

2pm games until mid-April, night games after when it gets warmer.

I can compromise on that.

The issue with 2 pm Saturday games for the 55 and under crowd (with kids) is most of our kids are playing sports at that time or around it. I can leave my kids game early-mid afternoon and still get to Olsen in time to get a couple hours of tailgating and the full game in IF it is at 6.

I won't get into the obvious of, night games are rowdier, and allow more of the casual fan to come.

Y'all are gonna love that 10:30 AM start time this Sunday!

I've heard it's for the players families. Afternoon games allow the parents to drive in that morning, watch the game, and then still have time to see their kids after.

IIRC, Childress moved the standard Saturday start time to 2 PM early in his tenure here because he didn't like the players sitting around all day waiting for a game. If the times on the old schedules are correct, it looks like that change happened in 2007.

Childress thought a lot of things that had no bearing on the game. You want a raucous crowd on a Saturday? Move it to the evening.

Many of us DFW Ags find the 2pm starts easier on getting to and from the game. Means we can be home before it's too late

The rowdy ones show up at night. There's also a long list of people waiting to get season tickets who would take DFW persons place if they dropped them.

You do have a point about the night game atmosphere. I think it's the weather in regards to earlier Feb and March games. Night games make a lot of sense in May and June no doubt. Was at Game 2 of the Super Reg and that was HOT. No wind or circulation at all.

Also, most DFW season ticket holders likely stay all weekend. I'm not one. It's harder for me to do a series, though I try when I can.

Fair statement and probably true about 90% of those travelers.

Love the 6 pm game times, says the old guy.

Some of the best atmosphere's Olsen Field had ever seen were Saturday 7pm games
