I'm going to set up a tailgate in Aggie Alley for that one. Will be more fun with our coonass friends coming in to party with us that weekend.

ticket prices will be much higher this year across the board.

TMF raised ticket prices with donation

High expectations creating more demand

I don't know what face on them were. I had to go through a secondary seller, so of course they're inflated.
To be fair, that Saturday matinee against LSU is probably the premier home game of the season, at least looking at it today (2/6).

Quickly checks schedule... Oh damnit, that's also St Paddy's.

Please tell me you're booking a room at the campus hotel.

Also, I might join you. For the game, not the hotel.

Almost makes you wish we hadn't gutted capacity when we renovated. Byrne had driven down fan interest to the point you could say those seats weren't necessary, but it was inevitable that the lack of supply would come back to bite us.

In 2003, we sold 8847 tickets against tu (our record). Wonder how long it would have taken those missing seats to sell out this season?

Then maybe you don't get any renovation. Facts are we where not packing the place before. I never had season tickets until the reno because you get buy seats for almost every game at the gate before hand. There wasn't a demand.

We built what we did because that's all we could afford on Big XII budget. And it took Blue Bell coming in an saving the day with large donation to get things started.

When it came time for construction, we where not going to the SEC. We can say we should of waited or whatever, but not doing what we did could have meant baseball got put behind Kyle Field in the reno order.

Agree. I will say several of us tried to sell how we needed more seats because of what the SEC meant. And I always hated berms.

But hind sight is 20/20. There was zero demand for baseball season tickets at that point in time. And you could buy seats in the lower deck for face or less for every game.

We didn't know we where going to the sec when things where finalized. We would have had to stop and redo everything ASSUMING somebody would have given more money. The AD was taking a revenue hit leaving the B12. The plans where to remodel at some point. I think football firings and donor apathy towards baseball IMO kept pushing that back. Also revolving ADs didn't help, either

In old Olsen we bought discounted passes from some tee shirt store on Harvey Rd, then sat GA for any other games that we couldn't get the pass

In 2003 we sold 8800 tickets against tu. Ticket sales of 7k and 8k for a single game were not uncommon during those years.

In 2005 we averaged 5900 fans per game. That's a pretty impressive number when you think what it would have been without the midweek games.

Then in 2012 we opened a renovated park that was inadequate for the level of interest we'd had just those few years earlier. It wouldn't have taken a rocket scientist at that time to look at how many graduates we turn out every semester and know that we were creating the seating shortage that we're now facing.

I was a baseball season ticket holder all through the Byrne years and always felt like the man had utter contempt for us. My cynical side feels like he created the shortage to drive up prices in response to all of the complaints that we (season ticket holders) had made about his earlier price increases.

I still have issues with B.B...
