Sure it is , none of the current coaching staffs in any of these programs are the reason it has been so long since A&M has won a Natty in either of these sports.

Not saying they are. doesn't mean there isn't pressure to end the drought still with yet another sec program doing it.

They played well when it counted. Congrats to the Rebels.
Very talented team. If you told me at the beginning of the season that they would win the Natty, while not who I would predict, I would not be surprised either. Told me this during the SEC Tournament I would have asked what you've be drinking. Congrats to the Rebels and to Bianco.

One Shining Moment but for College Baseball. They didn't have a montage or anything there at the end. They just ended it. I feel cheated. I needed closure.

Why would what Ole Miss does put more pressure on our teams than the pressure that is already there?

Are you saying there would be less pressure on us if a non-SEC won the title this year?
One day at a time.

His take make no sense. He is implying that there would be less pressure on us if a non-SEC won the title this year.

Me during regionals:

I will almost always bet against Ole Miss.
I don't know what they did to piss off the baseball gods, but I swear they could have an all star MLB lineup and get into a slump at the wrong time.

They made it for the first time in ages the year I went to the CWS and were hella fun to party with though

TBH, Ole miss could have a complete MLB team and I still wouldn't put them high in my bracket. They just feel so snakebit.

I guess we were the last team to take a series from them. Tied for 8th in conference. Tough neighborhood, that SEC.

Shows there needs to be a change in the NCAA regionals. We let in too many teams. I'm not a "strong" regular season guy per se, but now it means essentially nothing. A team getting hot at the right time can win it, even if they were the last team in. Just win enough in season, in conference, blow off the conference tournament, make a regional, and THEN get hot.

I know, I know, that sounds stupid to make that your strategy because it can end up backfiring easily, but its a hell of a backup plan. Regionals now are much easier to win than they were in the 6 team era. So it isn't completely crazy. You just have to learn to win on the road, and when you're paired in a Super against a school that's often based on geography, you might have an upper hand there. What if we were in the same boat and had to play a Super at Dell against Texas State or (hypothetically) in Frisco or the new Ballpark against either DBU or UTA? I'd like our chances if for no other reason than both settings would end up being Olsen west/north.

The Aggie teams in Omaha over the last 3 decades were NOT anything like this Ole Miss team. It just feels like the other teams dropped off at some point rather than Ole Miss winning. I know that's unfair to them, but its a feeling that's hard to shake given the circumstances.

Oh, well.

Ole Miss and OU both got hot in postseason. They WON their way to OMAHA and beat the teams there. Congrats to them. Ole Miss WON the games. The other teams didn't just drop off.

Congratulations to the Ole Miss Rebels for defeating the Oklahoma Sooners 4-2 in Game 2 to win the College World Series Final 2-0. On May 1st, Ole Miss was 7-14 in SEC games and on the verge of missing the SEC tournament before finishing the regular season with a 14-16 SEC record. Ole Miss lost to Vanderbilt 3-1 in its only SEC tournament game and was the last team to get into the NCAA baseball tournament. Ole Miss got extremely hot at the right time. Ole Miss dominated the Miami Regional and Hattiesburg Super Regional games to reach the College World Series. In 6 College World Series games, Ole Miss went 5-1 and outscored Auburn, Arkansas, and Oklahoma 36-14.

I believe Ole Miss is the first SEC team with a losing SEC record to win the College World Series. Also, Ole Miss became the 2nd consecutive team to win the College World Series without winning a single SEC tournament game. Last year, Mississippi State not only went 0-2 in the SEC tournament but were outscored by a combined 25-3 tally in losses to Florida (seven innings) and Tennessee (eight innings). Yet, Mississippi State went on to win the 2021 College World Series.

OK.

Bet you screamed about our basketball team getting left out of the tourney as well.

You have to win A LOT of games, against good teams, in Omaha to win a national championship.

To pretend that's luck, or as you call it "getting hot" is stupid.

Restricting the field to fewer teams ain't the move.

Month of partying in Mississippi. Hail State and Hoddy Toddy have won back-to-back championships. My uncle's (RIP) would be proud.

You don't pitch a complete game domination over Arky without stepping up at the right time.

I get your point, though. Baseball tournaments are a grind and you have to have a deep bench to win it all.
