I can remember being at a keg party in college, and there was a guy funneling a beer. I thought, that looks like Kelly Wunsch. It was. Crazy guy and was really cool when I talked to him. Thank goodness smart phones weren't a thing back then, or he'd have been off of the team.

I can also remember the Raggies in section 205 serenading him after he got an MIP. It was the Mickey Mouse Club song, but they had alternate lyrics. I remember that it ended with:

MIP-MIP
C-O-U-R-T

He apparently got all of the partying out of his system and went on to have a nice career with the Chi Sox.

My All-Time (going back in '91) Aggie starting rotation is:

Jeff Granger
Ryan Rupe
John Stilson

You should take a look at the all time career pitching records in the history of Aggie Baseball and get familiar with Mark Thurmond and Mark Ross. Possibly the best 1-2 starters ever over a 3 year span. They never missed a start and they almost always finished what they started. No conversation about best starting rotation ever is complete without those two being part of the discussion. Both had significant MLB careers after graduating from A&M. Btw, check the team ERA in '77, '78, '79. And that was during the height of SWC baseball.

I had a Park and Rec class with Chad Allen back in the day. He was usually in class and we talked a TON of baseball. Dude was hilarious and was stoked when he "collaborated" on a test and got a 70. He was wired all the time. Fun guy to hang out with.

Until a year ago Chad was the AA Hitting Instructor for the Chicago Cubs. He is back in Dallas now and is a private hitting instructor. And he is the best in North Texas at it. He turned my son into an elite college hitter. Would be good for TexAgs readers to know that Chad wasn't treated well by the HC before Schloss and has not been back to campus since. That's something that should be made right.

I can also confirm Chad Allen is a good dude.

Didn't know there'd been an issue with the previous regime and that's a damn shame. Hope that gets rectified.
