Does anyone know the NCAA rule on minimum time a pitcher must have between games? Or if it's based on pitch count etc?
Thanks
Thanks

. It's up to the coach and the player to figure out if/when they can pitch. KT 90 said:Dallasag517 said:

If the arm is still attached, they are eligible. It's up to the coach and the player to figure out if/when they can pitch.
It's like Airbud, there's no rule that says you can't pitch with yourKT 90 said:Dallasag517 said:

Was Wayne Graham notorious for this? I know Augie did some questionable things, but don't remember Wayne Graham doing anything like this...pattybrhg said:

Would be called the Austin Woods rule.
Augie destroyed that kids arm for no good reason.

This was the Cliff Gustafson approach. And, if the right arm came off, have him throw leftie next inning.KT 90 said:Dallasag517 said:

That article was great. His quote: "In those days, I was my own closer."ABATTBQ87 said:

But the most eye-popping stat from Ryan's outing might be his pitch count: 235, according to accounts from the game.

This is exactly right. I think Gus got his idea from watching women softball pitchers.Aggieangler93 said:This was the Cliff Gustafson approach. And, if the right arm came off, have him throw leftie next inning.KT 90 said:Dallasag517 said:

Gus basically did this to Dressendorfer. He was never the same afterwards.
I was there for the Byington walkoffs. Dressendorfer pitched a complete game the night before, and Gus brings him in for relief the next day. Still remember Gus switching left fielders after Dressendorfer had thrown his warmup pitches to give him more time to loosen up. Granted, he only threw one pitch to Byington but it was still pretty ridiculous to bring him in relief the day after a complete game the night before.Aggieangler93 said:This was the Cliff Gustafson approach.
