None of us saw it, and your observation is really helpful.

Everything that has happened in the post-season for this team is gravy. What Schloss and this team did to get us here is one of the best coaching jobs I've ever seen. If we go 0-2, that's still a monumental accomplishment.

So it's annoying as hell when people who only show up when things are going bad start spewing their self pity and emotional immaturity all over the thread.

Yes, we are the 2nd highest team left, but we also weren't even predicted to make the post season when the season started. That's what everyone means by house money.


Also one of maybe 20 programs in the country that really care about the sport and commit resources to being successful. Moral victories will always ring hollow for this program. Gotta win.

Let's hope there is a miracle today.

Two things can be true at once. Melting down is bad for the reasons you outlined. But also bad is people attacking anyone who points out the obvious -- that being down 8-0 to a CWS quality team with their ace on the mound is likely going to end up as a loss.

Everyone who is still here is here because we care, however each individual expresses it. But no need to put our fingers in our ears.

Does Dettmer not have a strikeout pitch? That was brutal. Just throws gas and gets to a ton of 3-2 counts. We need a dominant pitcher or two from the portal.

The real key to any big rally is to string together some outs for the other team. The hits are going to come in most college games. Get to 8-2 going to the 4th. Then scratch your way to 8-5. The longer they go without putting more on the board is where you're going to find their mental game slip and errors happen.

Find the guy in the bullpen who isn't afraid of the moment and can go throw some strikes, whoever that is.

Deciding what was gravy is for after the season is over. Already talking about that now is a loser's mentality. Thankfully the team isn't thinking that way.
