That's not true. Obviously you don't want it that outside, but one 6 inches outside serves a purpose
Didn't say 6 inches of the plate was a waste. When the ball, out of the pitcher's hand, is obviously not close, that's a waste. He did it to two batters in a row where it wasn't even a believable pitch. Again, the best purpose pitches appear over the plate then move off it or are adjusting the batter's eye level.
These are college kids, not Greg Maddux. They don't execute perfectly.
It doesn't take perfection. But what do I know.
