A&M won series from 5 teams in the field:

LSU, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Vandy, and Georgia -- 4 on the road

No they didn't. Thought for sure Maryland would be a Top 8 seed. Really surprised Rutgers did not get in when Michigan won the B1G Tourney.

Also talking about incongruity between RPI and other metrics this year. I'm still legit shocked they veered so far away from chalk RPI but kudos to them for looking deeper into the data.

Hell no. If you want to win a regional as a four seed, you've got to win those first two games, and force the big boys to play an extra game to beat you. You can't concede game 1.

Dollars to donuts they throw their ace. The winner's bracket is too valuable in the regional setup. While the law of averages usually plays out in a series, you don't concede a single game in baseball. Anything can happen.
