Blue Bell Park Upgrade | $30 million

The Aggie Baseball program will take its training to the next level with a new baseball
development center that allows for crucial training during inclement weather. Players
will up their game indoors through a new strength and conditioning center, pitching and
hitting development labs, training room, nutrition space, team meeting rooms and an
expanded locker room. More fans also will get to experience Aggie Baseball via a leftfield seating expansion.

except this one has plans to upgrade the indoor batting cages and my guess is the locker rooms.

The old plans had a club on the ground level in left field, so wonder if that happens or what that is in LF

It is some sort of club. Because the other drawing showed an "entrance to LF club" out there in the outfield.

Most of the improvements in this capital campaign for baseball involve the new indoor training facilities and remodeling existing fan club, the clubhouse, and the existing training facilities.

The new stuff is the indoor testing/pitching/hitting facilities, new seats where LF berm is now, and those other left field additions pictured above.

The "Crawford Boxes" in LF to deal with the limited distance with the Rec were my idea...

Same plans just about from a few years back. Is the money there now?

They are about to start asking for it from everyone!

I got the survey. What they have planned on campus is crazy. New indoor track, new indoor football, new soccer stadium from scratch, Bright upgrades, new players something, Blue Bell with $30 mil and the big ticket was Reed at $125 mil. Just wild numbers but our athletics would be at the top across the board damn near regarding facitlities.

The rendering of Reed was actually my favorite.

Also, I presume that's the new soccer stadium in the background of the first picture posted?

Keep in mind that was kind of a wish list, they can't do all those they're just trying to see what there's the most interest in and the deepest pockets..

Personally, I'd rather see more pure seating areas for baseball. I kind of get what they're trying to do with some of the creative areas like the grills, but I see those as one-off things not something that deep pocket donors would fund. More valuable club seating spaces don't sound like grilling areas, or at least the type of things the club donors I know would use.

yes it is, basically they are moving it the old softball field location.

Then current soccer stadium will be that covered outdoor practice field

very true, but to give football what it wants, you have to build new indoor track, which then sorta makes you do soccer and the other stuff on that side. So they can fund raise that we need this for track and soccer because football needs x,y,z.

IMO Reed is fantasy plan, I would bet that never gets done or it's a decade or more before it's done.

I would like to see a "Left Field Lounge" area added similar to MissSt.

Great tailgating hangout area and could help create a more "rowdy" crowd for opposing teams

Will there be added seating on the 1B side, similar to the added pandemic seating they had for this past season? It would be nice to have that side upgraded & to have it evened out and look like a true bb ball park. It also has a rowdy fan section to stay on the opponents!!

My guess is no. At best they might keep RC temp bleachers

I agree. Eventually, if we're really aiming to compete with MSU in attendance, that will have to change, but I don't think we see anything on first base side this go around.

other than dick measuring contest, why we're trying to match them in capacity is stupid IMO.

My guess is they'll figure what to do another complete reseating so they can expand the club seating area. But my guess is this will be done in Olsen ver 3.0. most likely I'll be priced and PP out of the stadium by then.

This is awesome. Where did you get this info? I couldn't find anything released by the school or baseball program? I sure would like to see the power alleys brought in some. I am envious watching balls sail out at Dudy, the Box and Ole Miss.

Are people really expecting a 100% increase in attendance to baseball? That's what it will take to be even w/Miss. St.

And, from the pics, we must be expecting an awesome pitching staff that will not need a bullpen. I looked several times, where is it? And there is no entrance to the field either.

I'm all for the tailgating in the OF & a new scoreboard. For those hell bent on removing the berms, how about we make berms in the OF to allow fans to sit?

Bullpen is in same place. It will just have deck around it to LF stands

Far as I can tell the scoreboard isn't changing. They will just build around it

Still don't see a bullpen exit door.

And Hop is right, we better find some power from the right side b/c we may get into high scoring matchups.

You realize these aren't blueprints, they're conceptual drawings

Do you really think they won't have bullpen or a door to get the field?

So they don't have a concept of a bull pen door?

Maybe they have hover boards they'll use.

Underground tunnel from the bullpen to right behind the mound. Couple that with a just right walk-up song, and you get the best entrance imaginable for a closer.

Well, short of Kenny powers coming in on a wagon pulled by a donkey, anyway.

I haven't seen anything listed anywhere, but I would guess around 6K, maybe just under.

I think the berm conversation will get us another ~650 seats. Add in the outfield and it's probably enough to eclipse the 6,000 mark. Currently, it's listed at 5,100. But we've seen another 2,400 in overflow/SRO for big games. Maybe 6,000 capacity with overflow to 8,000. No LF berm, but there is more room added to stand by the bullpen and in the OF.

If we really want to get the highest #s for capacity then it's going to have to come from more OF seating. either put in bleachers like last year or convert the RF berm to seats and add an OF berm. And even then, I think we're looking at 10k, not 12-14k.

I don't think there is any need to get to 12k. Let's prove we can get our attendance to 6k on average before we go nuts and build one of the largest in college baseball.

2020 - 4,695 (8th)
2019 - 4,926 (7th)
2018 - 5,026 (7th)
2017 - 5,319 (6th)

I actually like this idea

Closer walks through a tunnel to the mound, the ground opens up, and our closer emerges via platform elevator, like Ivan Drago just before the Creed exhibition fight

Except the visiting closer doesn't get an elevator. He has to walk up stairs, or walk out to the mound like they do now
