he did an outstanding job coming in under that pressure. the next to last houston batter (name?) put up a hell of an at bat. since he was a lefty, Rampy's curve wouldn't be a good choice, so he wisely stayed away from it. the hitter was sitting on the fastball, and fouled off 5 of them, i believe. two pitches before the eventual strikeout, i remember thinking that if Rampy had an offspeed or change that he felt confident with, the hitter would be so far in front of it. Rampy delivered it, it was perfect, and the hitter was sooooo far in front. wonderful wonderful at bat.
boggs also had a great at bat and fortunately that one ended up well for us.
