All in all, we've got a pretty light mid-week schedule. Only 6 of the 10 teams in the Big XII even play a game and only one or two of them are exceptionally interesting. And, for the billionth week in a row, KU and K-State have games against colleges that either a.) I've never heard of or b.) shouldn't play baseball anyway. With that said, here's what we've got as of right now:

Northern Colorado at Kansas State - 4:00
Baylor at UT-Arlington - 6:30
Texas A&M at Houston - 7:00
Texas at Rice - 7:00


WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10

Northern Colorado at Kansas State - 2:00
UT-Arlington at Oklahoma - 3:00
Tabor at Kansas - 3:00

Gotta love the internet. I had to find out about "Tabor".

Tabor College is located in Hillsboro, Kansas (town of 3,500). The "Blue Jays" are an NAIA team that plays in the Kansas College Athletic Conference (KCAC). Tabor has not played a D1 opponent yet this year, but does play SW Texas (yeah I know Texas State) later this year.

BOTTOM 4 - UT-Arlington leads Baylor, 3-0.

Baylor can't hit... And if they can't pitch they're in trouble. They better not lose to UTA.. thats just sad..

BOTTOM 4 - Texas leads Rice, 3-0. UT has 4 hits (3 run HR in the first) and Rice has 3.

BOTTOM 6 - UT-Arlington leads Baylor, 3-0. BU actually has 7 hits (UT-A has 8), but can't push a runner across the plate.

Sport -

Don't under-estimate UT-A. They've already beaten OU this year and consistently have a solid program. Losing to them isn't the end of the world, I assure you. Of the Southland teams that the Big XII loads up on most every Tuesday, UT-A and Texas State are the two best...better than Sam Houston or UTSA anyway.

BOTTOM 6 - Texas still leads Rice, 3-0. Rice has out-hit UT 5 to 4.

BOTTOM 8 - UT-Arlington leads Baylor, 4-0. UT-A has 11 hits, BU has 7.

FINAL - UT-Arlington over Baylor, 5-1. BU falls to 4-11 on the year and the Bears can't capitalize on 4 UT-A errors.

TOP 8 - Texas leads Rice, 4-0. Horns just flat OWN the Owls this season.

BOTTOM 7 - Houston leads Texas A&M, 7-4. Ags just flat imploded in the 6th.

BOTTOM 9 - Texas leads Rice, 5-0. Rice has out-hit UT 6 to 5, but can't score.

TOP 9 - Texas A&M has come back and now leads Houston, 8-7.

Wednesday scores:

FINAL - Kansas State over Northern Colorado, 5-3. KSU has now won 8 straight to move to 11-4 on the year.

FINAL - UT-Arlington over Oklahoma, 18-12. UTA scores 12 runs in the 6th and beats a Big XII team for the second time in 2 days.

Oh yea, Lamar...I always forget about them being part of the Southland now. I still mentally have them in the Sun Belt or whatever conference they used to be a part of.

Baylor has indeed imploded and they will take their lumps once conference begins. I would bet that Baylor does not make the NCAA playoffs this year, unless something drastically happens from here on out.

Poor Tabor. Was really pulling for the Blue Jays. Ah well, time to go back to playing directional christian schools.

As a Baylor fan I continue looking at the scores thinking to myself 'what in the hell is going on with BU?' As an idealist the pitching will stay strong and our bats will finally come around. I wish we played you guys later in the season as I fear as poor as we are hitting right now the series might not be pretty.
