Congrats, it worked for Illinois, and I'm done on play by play for the night.
I'm sorry a beautiful woman offends you.
I'm not offended by beautiful women. I have a beautiful wife and 2 girls. I understand the appeal of the images you post. I'd be right there with you in my college days enjoying them.
But when it comes down to it, when you get into the habit of ogling women, it isn't one that is easy to break. Maybe some people have no problem with their spouses looking at images of other people, but I know that I can't love my wife the way I promised on our wedding day if I'm staring at a pair of rally cans. I can't raise my daughters to be the chaste women I want them to be if they see me looking at pictures like that, even if it's just a baseball thread. I also can't raise my son to respect women the way he should if he sees me looking at these on my phone.
If I weren't doing play by play, I would have viewed the thread on mobile, and I would have turned off auto-load images for that reason. But even then, there's no way to stop instagram images from loading.
I understand that my views are "backwards" and "outdated" in our sex-obsessed culture, but I hold onto them as best I can, and as I grow older, I find myself clinging to them with even greater fervor.
Hey, now that the games over, I'm sorry if I seriously offended you. However, posting images like that are common place not only here on this specific board, but in the zoo, and even in NFL and MLB boards. It makes people chuckle or engage more especially when things aren't going well.
It's not to be taken seriously. That's why "rally cans" can turn into pictures of actual cans. Or the one time I was posting pictures of HW Bush as a rally.
I apologize for offending you, though. I'm old school in life as well, mostly. I guess I just don't see the harm in engaging the community with light hearted banter. Avoid the general board.
Do you want me to stop? I feel like this should be up to a community vote if so
No, I enjoyed your humorous can posts (i'm just a prude, I'm not humorless), and starred a few of them. I just make it a point to avoid pictures of scantily clad women. Like I said, if I hadn't been on a desktop for play by play, I would have just done what I could to avoid the images by turning off auto-load images on mobile, and just avoided the instagram posts as best I could, and flagged anything I felt crossed the line, and let TexAgs decide what they want on their website.
And I know this is common place on a few threads, such as "TOFA" on the astros threads. "Rally boobs" aren't ingrained as part of this boards culture yet (if anything rally fatties have a longer history on this board), and I hope it stays that way (not the rally fatties, just the lack of rally boobs). I'll keep fighting my fight the way I can, and if it gets to a point that makes it not worth visiting this site anymore, than I'll make that decision. I don't intend to force my views on this board, but I'm not afraid of making my opinion known to the board's moderation as to what makes a website worth visiting or avoiding.
Sir. Thank you for this thoughtful post. Seriously. But I died when you hit the rally fatties discussion. I'm still chuckling hardcore over here.
I respect your view and will take it into consideration going forward. FWIW, I didn't post the boob bouncing gifs. Just tasteful pictures of Instagram "'models".
God bless, seriously. I respect your view a ton.
Thanks for the response. I've been where you are, and I understand the appeal, both from a "nice to look at" and for the sake of community point of view. If texags would just create a "don't auto-load instagram images" button, I could basically drop this and just never do play-by-play.
And the worst part of all your posts was the fact you made a mistake and posted a rally image while Illinois was at bat in the 8th. That screwed us big time, ha!
God bless. Here's to another 10 straight wins, and my puritan self never doing play-by-play again.
God save the Patriarchy!
