A couple of buddies and I are planning a weekend trip to Starkville to check out the Dude and take in some Aggie baseball. Was curious if anyone that's been has any advice or tips for us, namely when it comes to GA tickets vs. reserved seating?

This will be my first trip to Starkville since they completed the renovations. Prior to the renovations, reserved seat tickets were sold out, and scarce on Stubhub, but GA tickets were plentiful. I suspect that is still the case (and just looking at StubHub, there aren't many reserved seats out there at the moment, and what is available is very pricey). They've got a berm and some standing areas for GA.

What twk said. The Aggie parents will be sitting down the right field line right before the berm that juts out in the RF corner.

If you are flying Delta flies into the regional airport between Columbus and Starkville. About a twenty minute drive. We stay at the Comfort Suites or Courtyard which are walking distance. I want to say we got the Comfort Suites for around 140 a night.

The Veranda has a nice bar and TVs with Jackie Sherrill stuff still on the walls. The other nice eating joint is Harvey's.

There is a casual wine/beer place called I believe Bin 612 right by the bar area across the street from campus and the Dude. PM me if further questions.

I'll be making the trip and meeting my Mississippi State grade Uncle for the games, even he can't get anything other than GA tickets right now. He's got feelers out to some season ticket holders he knows, so hopefully something comes up. But the entire seating bowl is reserved seating, and entirely owned by season ticket holders. There are no single game tickets sold by MSU.

I'm thinking about making that trip too. I have a co-worker/friend who is a passionate MSU alum (huge pot-banger and easily jumps off the football bandwagon, but is die-hard baseball). We've been trying to make the series in either Starkville or CS (I still haven't been to new BB). This might be the year, but it's damn hard to get to either city. I'm thinking about flying into Memphis and driving down.

You fly Delta to ATL, then ATL to GTR, Golden Triangle Regional Airport, located between Columbus and Starkville. It's a very short drive from the airport to campus. I like Starkville for baseball road trips--like many SEC towns, it's too small to really handle a football crowd, but it's great for baseball.

I think Restaurant Tyler is where we ate with my big kids. It's excellent.

On the flight angle, only Delta flies to GTR, so, unless you want to drive from Jackson or Memphis, that's your option. No matter which airport you go to, I think you're looking at a Monday flight home. Delta still has seats available on its Monday flights, so if you are contemplating this, I'd get on it now.

Thanks for reminding of that joint because I have been wanting to try it out.

Twk, got reservations for us at Restaurant Tyler Saturday at 7:30 4/25 after the two pm game. Y'all come.

And if you can fly into GTR between Starkville for a reasonable rate do it. So convenient. And we have stayed in Columbus and driven over without a problem. It is about twenty bucks a night cheaper for hotels but damn son how many times y'all doing this?

The Comfort Suite room with two beds sleeps four easy.

You're very welcome.

Columbus isn't a bad drive from Starkvegas. There's just not much there.
