And people stare down in the majors more then ever. Bob Gibson isn't on the mound anymore. Pedro was one of the last to ever really go up and in, and he didn't hit people in the head.

Staring down Nolan Ryan after an HR (in a game Nolan was on the bench for) is what got Ventura plunked by Ryan later in the year. And we all know how that ended for Ventura.

Lots of internet tough talk, breaking the guy's finger or shattering his jaw isn't macho. These college pitchers can be amped up enough already, having them throw at people is irresponsible because it isn't going to be with pinpoint accuracy.

Imagine they retaliate and something slips and an Aggie player ends up with the worst of it. That's why throwing at people is dumb.

Not to mention it isn't going to shut up the rest of their team. When you're beating someone on the field, suddenly they don't feel like talking anymore.

IMHO, we should not throw at his head but we do need to move the ball around more against him...almost all our pitches to him were low (trying to prevent homers) except the ones that got up and were hit for homers...he needs a little uncertainty to enter his life versus the Aggies.

Between the shoulder blades or in the ribs. The pros would light you up for that garbage trash talk.

Its not internet tough talk, that's actually how baseball works. Who said anything about breaking a finger or jaw, this isn't the mafia. What I was looking for was a leader to step up and say no. Not to shut Texas up necessarily but to show your teammates we aren't standing for this, to show some pride and fight. What has people upset is getting embarrassed by a rival and them shoving their face in it. Imagine if they retaliate!? That's weak sauce bud.

So now players play the game and some show boat
and they should be "taught" how to play a game with sportsmanship.

You want to talk back or get in someone's face, fine.

You want to win on the field, even better.

You want to endanger someone's career or health because they hurt your feelings by looking at you? I'm not seeing how that's the "real man" way of doing things. You're hurling a 90+ mph missile at someone's head with little chance at direct retaliation. It isn't a fair fight, it's cowardly.

I haven't said anything about earholing someone, the videos I showed were getting in someone's face. It's sticking up for your team and you don't not do it because of retaliation, that is being a puss. Show some fight doesn't mean ear hole the next guy. Bedford could have met him at the plate and had words about respect. If they hit someone for it then you do what you feel you need to.

Well, the subject at hand is throwing at people.

This board couldn't contain themselves when Ivey threw the Horns down at the Horn bench after Barash's walkoff, so tell me exactly what the difference is between that and what Clemens did. It's not much. If you praised Ivey for that but got butthurt by what Clemens did, you're a hypocrite.
