Pettite would have to be a volunteer unless they change their requirements (never went graduated - played for Wayne at San Jac).

I have heard the same that Berkman and Pettite are going to be the coaches.
Rice current pitching coach has no "customer communication" skills, at least he didn't at Cy Ranch. Hard to believe they hired him expecting him to convince parents to get their kid to go to Rice.
Rice must have thought their name and his name, due to state titles, would sell themselves.
Since his time there, the team ERA has continually gone up

Why would their be blowback? Most want Wayne out and he would jumpstart their program again.
Berkman has a degree and has been coaching. He could really sell why Rice is such a good option for kids.

I watched the game last night at reckling Park with my dad and brother for my first time. It was a cool atmosphere. Had fun hanging out with the hecklers from section 203. I could tell we gave some of the fans enjoyment with our yelling most of the game. It looked like a home game for us. Gig'em Ags!
