I will never understand why most softball hitters square away to bunt but pull back and swing away when everyone in the stadium knows they aren't going to bunt.

Anyone know what's up with that?

Maybe if she didn't have her bat down faking the bunt... stupidest thing I've seen in a while doing that with a pitcher throwing that hard.

What's with showing bunt and then pulling it back to take a swing? Seems like a bad strategy especially against a pitcher who throws that hard.

Sorry but you're not bunting when you're down 7-5 in the bottom of the 17th in a 1-2 count with 2 outs. Most ridiculous I've ever seen. You're not fooling anyone. Just putting yourself at a disadvantage against that pitcher

its something many of them that use it have done most of their life and most/all of the season...they know what they're doing. And the many very successful coaches that have taught it over the years know what they're doing.

I've seen All-American hitters use that style and I've seen girls hit All-American pitchers usin that style.

I'll add that against power pitchers, that technique if done right can help shorten the swing and get the bat thorough the zone quicker...
