Congrats on a good season ladies! Let's build on this and come back on fire next year.

What frustrates the hell out of many of us is that after following TAMU athletics for 3+ decades I have been let down more than I can count. Only once during that time have we won 1 major championship - women's basketball. I've seen us underachieve and lose to teams that we should have beaten many times over. It's called chocking. Our school chokes. So it pisses me off when folks call out other Aggies who are tired of our chronic letdowns. You sunshine pumpers are the perpetrators of the mediocre culture at TAMU! Shame on you!

This team didn't do that. They won in Knoxville as underdogs and are probably the 8th best team in OKC this year. In my mind this team is the anomaly. They had that fire, they just weren't as good as Florida and UCLA.

Congrats to our girls! They bucked the trend simply by being in OKC and I'm extremely proud of them.

Hey Ags, don't respond to this thing, just feeds her dark need to negative posts. I just did but done.

For what it's worth, only 1 team wins the championship a year in any sport, while thousands of teams don't.

I wish we won more championships.

Yet, I'm glad we can at least say we were close.

I hope this has injected some needed energy into a program that has been in a multi-year funk. It was an exciting run. The team pulled out some terrific wins, the team lost some games to some great teams.

Everything should always be a building block to something better. Let's come out next year and send someone else home in Oklahoma City!

And for the love of God almighty, do what you can to not turn another thread into a yelling match. Just. Let. It. Go.

Thank you, ladies, for a truly memorable and successful season! The magic in Knoxville will forever be a treasured part of Aggie athletics lore and performing on the grandest stage in OKC is a privilege earned by very few. Enjoy your achievement.

Need better/ more powerful pitchers. Confused how the others never saw the field. I hear that 2017-2018 class has good pitchers so that could be a plus.

Again, name one time that what a sunshine pumper said impacted how a player performed on the field. That was my question.

I was manager of the A&M mens basketball team for a few years. I didn't play. But I was very involved with the team and players. Not one time did I feel like our team was chokers or losers because our fans "pumped sunshine" and were too optimistic. As a matter of fact, many times that positive reinforcement on campus or in the locker room was just what was needed.

To answer your question. most Aggie fans I know love going to Aggie sporting events but none of them have ever said "Well shucks we just ran out of time" I have been attending Aggie sporting events since 1970. I don't recall ever saying or thinking that. So I don't know anyone first hand who thinks that way.

Oh he's taking a tongue-in-cheek joke about "we ran out of time" or "we got outscored" and applying it to our teams.

It's the same way people still latch onto Hyman saying "we need to manage expectations" and applying it to any fan who isn't immediately on board with firing the coaches.

I think it's more likely that winning championships makes the fans "not want to accept mediocrity", not the other way around.

Blaming the fans that watch the games as a hobby for the lack of championships remains the dumbest opinion repeated on Texags.

The "culture" of impotently whining on the internet has accomplished absolutely nothing for my entire lifetime. If simply anonymously posting that you like winning more than losing got anything done, we'd have won everything since the invention of this website.

Unless you're a coach, player, or big time donor you're just a fan...and posting "you accept mediocrity" and "I demand excellence" is meaningless. It hasn't gotten anyone fired, and we hear that a few of our coaches are still employed because they have backers that want the influence that comes with their contributions.

I'd really like to know what the "you accept mediocrity" people actually do to change anything, because I'm certain that 999 times out of 1000 it isn't anything beyond their ineffectual Texags post.

Lance does phenomenal play by play and jk does a great score tracking thread weekly. Both have for years. They bring far more to the board than the whining "we are chokers! It's in our DNA!" doom and gloom posters. So whine that direction.

Sorry ... I was driving in car traveling back home and I wasn't able to post. But thanks for noticing my absence!

At any rate, I think the signs were there that this team might not quite have what was needed to pull off some upsets in OKC.

Lots to build on, think our recruiting class can help.

A lot of youth on the roster so let's get to work in the offseason.

And we all know that the more times you post something positive, especially during a losing effort, makes one a much better Aggie Fan.

We had a lot of underclassmen, similar to baseball... Hoping they continue to improve.

To win it all in OKC, you have to have elite pitching, and to get elite pitching you have to go national in your recruiting. The main difference between this team and UCLA/Florida/OU is that the state of Texas hasn't produced a pitcher of that quality in a while.

I've thought for a couple years we'd have a chance to make it to the WCWS because our offensive recruiting was elite for 2-3 classes in a row and our pitching recruiting was strong enough to get us there.

This team had an amazing season that we all should be proud of.
