Neither did the ump. He set himself up to where the throw was coming in exactly opposite from where he knelt.

I agree. But in fairness to the ump you don't anticipate a force play on a line drive single and that throw came in so quickly I don't know if he would have had time to get in a different position regardless.

This weekend and next weekend are probably the two toughest series for us on the year. If we can come out of next weekend with at least a couple SEC wins, we still have plenty of good chances to climb back up in the standings.

Definitely. I meant from the umpire's point of view. It looked like a clean single through the right side. It ended up being a fielder's choice.

a lot of things are falling against the Ags right now. I too thought the schedule would lighten up after Vandy (15-8) and LSU (17-6)...but then Auburn (19-5, 4-0) is next

I can't believe this team couldn't muster another run after the GS. This lack of production for long stretches is terrible.

Just saw the score. Feel like I've been punched in the stomach. What is happening with this team?

The strike outs are exhausting.....

For weeks we've seen that our batters with very few exceptions (Shew, Bedford, and occasionally one other) cannot hit any pitcher who is better than a regular number 5 pitcher of an SEC team. We're otherwise overwhelmed by fastballs thrown over 88 mph which are located anywhere except right down the middle, thigh high. Also, all except 2 or 3 guys always look amazingly surprised when the pitcher throws them a sharp breaking ball when they're down in a 2 strike hole in an a bat. What in the world are they looking for in that situation?!!

Last year we were so proud of the job Bolt did with our hitting lineup but this year's crew including Foster and others really need to stop over swinging and start hitting many more balls to the opposite field, especially breaking pitches moving away from them.

Question for any one who got to watch the game (gotta make the monies to pay the bills tonight), after the grand slam, did the team look like they shut down, or did they play like they have a damn? Did our approach at the plate change?

Been saying this since game 1 against Kentucky - this team MUST change its approach at the plate.
