If you can't make nine games then why even by them?

Also with flash it's easy to give tickets away now than when you had tickets

Because it is so predictable when a baby gets sick?

We bought our seat for our son when he was in utero because a seat showed up next to us.
So, we should have lost that seat because it wasn't filled?

And if flash seats does such a good job, why are so many seats empty midweek?
Scan the ticket when you use the other ones, it's not that hard is it?. I didn't say you had to sell, flash can be used to GIVE tickets to somebody else.

Again it's shouldn't be puntitive, give a mid season warning then if it happens the following year then pull the tickets.

Everyone says it's hard to give tickets away, but anytime someone does that on any board people jump all over them

How does this work if you can't give away your seats?

One should bring a teething baby or a sick toddler to games to make sure they don't lose them?

I am serious when we couldn't give away tickets during the midweek or creampuff weekend series.
He's saying the AD could facilitate you selling/giving away your tickets.

Take your self righteousness and shove it.

In the post prior to mine you called me a blow hard, and in this one you called me a whiner.

No self righteousness here. I called myself a blowhard as well(and hop). Feel free to lob friendly attacks at me as I have been, I am fine with it. But please actually add to the conversation with something to discuss instead of just whining. I have made my point as to when the expansion was actually agreed to and done, as well as said it will be addressed soon after softball and track, and I also gave numbers from last night where you could have purchased reserved seats for less than face value on a perfect night against a conference foe in late April.

It's not the major issue you seem to think it is imo

The AD seems to think so according to Hop.

Looks like I'm right.

Sorry that pisses you off.

Maybe the girls can blue star your next post and flag mine and get it deleted like the last one.

Won't change the fact I added to the conversation and the AD appears to agree with me.

The original build was flawed and typical A&M prior to SEC.

Fix it now, preferably before we spend $ on softball.

The last two seasons I purchased season tickets I made less then nine games season. It certainly wasn't planned but living out of town, a new job which with less flexible hours, and family obligations kept me away from the park. I offered my seats on Flash Seats but they were rarely snatched up quickly and have no certainty that those who bought them actually used them.
Did you try to give them away in here or any other board? I don't want to argue this anymore because it's a thread derail.

I think a system can be put in place with warnings,

But honestly if you go another year and don't come more than 9 times I don't think you should keep them. just my opinion

How does scanning the ticket do anything other than window dressing?
No one is in the seat.

The problem is people want 10 dollar tickets in sections 103-105 without having to pay for season tickets.

That won't happen, but your right, it wasn't built for the SEC

How many times is the average MLB park sold out?
With l the new stadiums and renovations in MLB over the past 25 years, how many increased seating capacity? MLB has gone toward smaller, family friendly parks for the most part. The few that have increased seating like Fenway don't come close to meeting demand for seats.

That's because many MLB teams used to play in huge dual use football stadiums and the last generation of ballparks are baseball specific, so naturally they would be closer to the field and smaller.

But we're talking about a 5-6k college park that used to have 1-2k fans outside the ballpark for big games versus 60,000 dual use pro stadium.

As usual you're just arguing to argue. I seriously doubt the majority of empty seats are people who have sick kids or unborn babies.

The ticket price thing isn't even relevant to anything I've posted

I did give them up. As stated the times I can make it to Olsen now I usually have no problems finding a ticket for a reasonable price. Every time I could not make a game those final two seasons they were offered on Flash Seats, never above face value and often for less then I paid. Why should I give tickets away to strangers if there is huge demand? Again, if I did as you suggest, still no assurance they would have been used. I believe most of those b****ing want seats for prime games for cheap prices.
Tanya 93
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Not saying they are.

You seem to think there is a demand for tickets when clearly there is not for games that most deem not important.

You have people telling you that they won't snap up tickets on flash seats and yet you insist people should be kicked out of their season tickets for not making them used.

It is all about money.
Give me great seats for LSU!

How long do you want to ignore this user?
What seasons, I've sold tickets every year since moving into BBP and have had no issues.

I realize this won't be good for guys like you who buy seats then never come.

The demand is for season tickets. The piece, thst want cheap tickets want the AD to pull those empties and re sale them. I'm against that, honestly I bet it's not legal
BQ_90
How long do you want to ignore this user?
There is demand for season tickets.

You are focusing on mid week games when more games on on weekend

It's one person and you.

It's my opinion.

I see seats by me that have never been used since the remodel.

The ticket cost thing is everywhere, same people that want to,sit in the club at Kyle but don't want to pay a donation
WILDMAN95
How long do you want to ignore this user?
My thoughts on the abundance of empty seats, and this expands on some of what others have suggested:

  • Create some sort of easy system where any particular unused seat can be donated back to the 12th Man Foundation. Key word is easy. As in the owner makes one click on a website. Or one quick phone call. Or text. Or email. At any time up to maybe a half-hour before first pitch.
  • Let the 12MF re-sell those seats for face value, either at the gate or online if they are donated early enough.
  • The 12MF then earns more money on those seats.
  • The season ticket owner then earns more "charitable donation" value on those seats.
  • Profit

I don't think there should be any "use it or lose it" stipulation, at least not until demand is way higher and there is a long waiting list for season tickets.

I wonder how many people there are who, having been relegated to the berms for one game and had a bad experience, just stay away from the ballpark if they think it's likely to be a sellout.

The very real probability of a bad viewing experience might have a significant effect on overall attendance. Especially with the great SECN+ alternative we have now for all home games.
Cyp011
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Mid week games for directional schools isn't what you build a park for. This isn't hard math. The stadium in current design deters attendance on weekend as people from out of town do not want to drive to CS to sit on a berm. That is a fact.
jkag89
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And the current design was made before the Ags move to the SEC. It seems there are plans to increase seating but other sports that are in far greater need and last upgrade wasn't five seasons ago take priority. Also arriving early or a little planning ahead will usually get you a seat off the berms.
Cyp011
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That's a fine option jk89. However, for people coming in for a day trip the idea of getting to the stadium 1hr+ early isn't ideal. You're turning an afternoon into a day long event. Again, that realistic for a local, not an out of town guest.

It's an unrealistic ask of the fanbase and frankly terrible customer service.

If that's your plan, then you need to buy tickets in the secondary market.
jkag89
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It is not like I haven't done it. Is it really that hard to get on Flash Seats if it is too much of a hardship to get to Olsen early? The constant harping isn't going to speed up the time table, the facts are other projects are slated before anything substantial will be done at Olsen.
Cyp011
How long do you want to ignore this user?
And pay $65 a ticket for reserved? That's just stupid. The fact is small minded former AD and officials choked the bit. Most my extended network of friends refuse to drive up to sit on a berm or have to sit near the strange birds in the Raghu section. They're fine from across the stadium but seriously awkward when within 10 yards.

People want an experience and standard seating if they're going to drive up. The AD needs to deliver on it and not defend the marginal cost of season tickets.
BQ_90
How long do you want to ignore this user?
This page of the thread is completely polar opposites.

One side saying no tickets can be bought for less than triple face value and the other side saying they can never give tickets away

What are you even talking about? You are whining just to whine and keep saying "I'm right." right about what?

We don't disagree that at this current trajectory, some changes to the lf berm and more permanent seating should be the next logical step.

But at the time, the renovation was completely fine, and is still more than serviceable save for maybe 8 games a year. And there were other sports that are going to get the upgrades first, lie the ad has recently announced.

You still fail to even be explain what you're crying about, so how can you be "right" about something?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

I said we need seats where the berms are, and according to Hop, so does the AD. So I was right.

Since you disagreed and didn't have much of a counter, you resorted to calling me a whiner.
