Yeah not sure as to why it worked out like that other than maybe since they are both 3 seeds, one team got to host, the other got home field advantage for games 1 and 3?

That really surprised me to see the Maryland closer give up those consecutive hits/runs after the way he shut down ucla' big hitters.

But the CF shoulda made that catch, and they'd still be up a run.

UVA & MD are both 3 seeds. They are playing at UVA but MD is the home team in game 1.

Maryland defeated UCLA, the #1 national seed, so for the purposes of bracket seeding, Maryland will be treated as if they were the national seed, even though they are on the road. UCLA would have been the home team 2 out of 3 games if they had advanced to the SR, so by beating them, Maryland gets that advantage.

This is also why Missouri State, as a national seed, is the home team against Arkansas today, even though Arkansas is hosting the SR.

There could potentially be a bizarre scenario in Omaha where Maryland, as a non-national seed, is the home team in the opening game against Missouri State, the number 8 national seed, because seeding wise they are treated as if they are UCLA.

Make sense? If Maryland wins the super regional, the bracket will treat them as if the were the top team in Omaha, even though they would likely be the eighth-best team there.

AMEN. I have been so frustrated by this all week. Surely this one game is now definitive proof, right? I mean, never mind the whole reason for having a tournament, the history of just about every NCAA tournament in any sport in which upsets happen, or the fact that most national rankings or pundits considered Mo St a top 8-10 team, at least. Or the fact that Arkansas beat A&M in a 3 game series (in College Station). Or that they are one of the hottest teams in college baseball. Or that Mo St was given a regional just like everyone else and smoked it. Or that the regional is being played in a rowdy Arkansas atmosphere. Or that last year half the national seeds did't make it out of their regional. No- forget all of that- this single game proves they didn't deserve a national seed. I mean, if the top 8 national seeds don't make it to Omaha every year, that clearly means the committee doesn't know **** all about what they're doing.





A&M didn't get a national seed. Get over it. If you want to be upset about Mo St getting a national seed, it's ONLY because they couldn't host a Super. Aside from that you couldn't have made a legitimate case that they deserved one any less than the other teams bunched on the bubble. They had credentials just like the rest.

aggiehawg, my son-in-law is a graduate and former coach for Arkansas, however, Arkansas did not even qualify to host a Regional, and they have the easiest path the CWS. I have to call BS for the pigs to be in this position.

At the very least, that entire committee needs to be replaced. They were terrible and this tournament proves it.

Mo state, Illinois will go down and no game will be close, none. They don't belong. Rig the RPI all you want, it won't help those teams be competitive, which is what should matter.

Gabe Gross insulted that Florida is sac bunting up 8-0 to get extra insurance runs. Says Mike Martin should be pissed that they are trying to embarrass FSU more. Perhaps O'Sullivan doesn't want to end up like NCST?
