Some info from a Fort Worth baseball fan who goes to a lot of ball games at Lupton.
The grass hill isn't a good place to watch a game. This is usually the family zone, where kids can run around and play in the dirt while the parents watch the game. Very few people actually try to watch the games from there during normal circumstances. Typically, with GA tickets you can sit in at least one of the top level corners of the stadium to watch the game. That's not the case in the post season, as those are sold as reserved seats as well.
There will be very few spots to see the game with GA tickets. The outfield is usually not open, but I'm sure it will be this weekend (whether it's supposed to be or not). But it's a hill, nowhere to place chairs and it's not a comfortable spot to stand.
Parking was $5 in the lot last weekend, but fills up fast. They reserve a lot of spots for the media, and employees of both programs. So parking is even tougher than normal.
You can bring in chairs, but keep in mind there isn't much room for them. A couple hundred people will have a flat spot good enough to seat a chair, the rest should plan on sitting on the ground or standing.
Theyll let you bring in water, and you should. Food is good. Lines for the bathrooms are long, you'll miss an inning or two going to the bathroom for sure. There are portijohns in the GA area though I think, not sure how long the lines are there.
It's anyone's guess how it'll go in the GA section, this is unprecedented basically. I personally would never try to watch a game from that area, especially with 3,000 people in there. It's going to be like the student section at a football game, if that's your scene you'll enjoy the atmosphere I'm sure. If you're used to sitting and having a good view of the game, might honestly be best to stay home and watch on TV.
As for the TCU15 thing, it's much to do about nothing. Some of the students who were not paying attention are going to miss out, but the majority of TCU fans were able to load up on tickets just fine before the TCU15 code was activated. I personally got over 12 tickets per game, had no problem getting them.
Most fans there won't have any idea what TCU15 means. I only know of it from Twitter.
Bring sunscreen and bug spray. There is no shade, and bugs have been terrible up here since the rains.
As for what to expect from the baseball game...the prevailing wind blows in from left field and it's a decent sized ball park. Balls die in the power alley. Power teams struggle. That's why Schloss built his team around pitching and a bunch of 2/6 type hitters. It's tough to score runs on teams that play solid defense. Most big innings at Lupton involve multiple errors and walks.
Have fun! Good luck!
