What's the weather lookin like?

beautiful blue skies. A few passing clouds, but otherwise a perfect day for baseball.

The forecast is looking better for today and tonight, which is great. Tomorrow is a different beast all together.

I have no idea here...why do we want the chanticleers to win? b/c of cal's pitching depth?

Yep. Coastal is banged up, Cal has a good team with very good pitching, and at one point was looking like a regional host.

IMO, Cal is the real 2 seed. Sort of shocked to see them as a 3 seed to be honest.

Why would the committee do that? They are smarter than that. They must know something. /sarcadm

Confirmed that Coastal's catcher is out with a rib injury. Tried to take swings yesterday, and apparently things didn't go so well.

Need more offense. Not necessarily a lot of runs, just a lot of base runners and pressure situations. Need to drive up pitch counts and get into some bull pens this game.

We've got a triple by Cal in the top of the 2nd for the first hit of the game. Semi diving effort by the RF who was caught in between diving and running and it hit off his wrist.

That brings up the 2nd great stache in the lineup for Cal.

Chanticleers aren't used to a big outfield. Playing in their band box they didn't think it possible to see a ball fall in between them.

It's funny, too. Every time I'm at Olsen I see the field as being almost incredibly in the middle. Yes you can drive the ball out of the park, but it's also got a big outfield and is fairly deep. It's equally as good a pitcher's park as a hitter's park, and that usually depends on if we have a south wind coming in from the coast, or a northerner from a front. I like it.

Then you spend the rest of the year watching these games at other stadiums like Kentucky, CC, etc...and the field just looks ridiculously small.

Yep. At 330/375/400, Olsen is almost the most average dimension park in the world. Boring almost. but because of that it is an incredibly fair park IMO.

Auburns LF just made an amazing grab to rob a HR

C of C is blasting the ball. That would have been their fourth solo shot of the game.

I ask because after all of our harping about how Arkie was given a cake-walk to hosting a Super, they are quickly down 0-2 to Oral Roberts.
