At the risk of sounding stupid, what’s the rule in college baseball on which side the home dugout is located? This isn’t critical, but it’s been annoying me ever since I watched A&M@Rice. Rice’s dugout is on the first base side.

Obviously there’s no NCAA requirement or Rice and A&M would be the same.
Is it different by conference?
Can each team decide? (Rice’s home dugout gets less sun)

BTW, Rice has a nice stadium, but the seats are a mile from the foul lines.

there is no rule, home team decides which dugout they want. It would only make sense that rice would select the dugout that is shaded to be the home dugout.

Even in the Bigs the home dugout is different in each park. The home dugout is decided by the team and the stadium layout.
