For afternoon games, are there some sections that are better than others (i.e. 3rd base side vs first) for shade purposes?

Thanks!

both sides are fine. Sit in rows 6 and up if looking to avoid the sun

3rd base line seats are more in the shade.

Not complaining, just wondering. With all the improvements made to Olsen, why not a cover - similar to LSU's Box Field? Yes, I understand sight lines and partially obstructed views. But the rows of seats aren't that deep, it provides shade, and it looks old school cool.
Bang away.

Most of the games are played during cooler months. Many of us actually enjoy being the sun for most of the season, it is generally not until late April that we hope for cloud cover during day games.

You want more roof than we already have at Olsen? You've got to be kidding. Why not just get a retractable dome. There's plenty of shade at Olsen.

If we're getting a retractable dome, can we just go ahead and put a net up around the whole stadium? Foul balls are as dangerous as the sun.

Back to the original post, definitely 3rd base side for shade.

My family had seats in row 2 Section 205 on Saturday and my 3yo son couldn't even sit on the seat it was so dang hot. We moved up to row 8 or 9. We would have certainly moved if asked but there were plenty of seats to be had in the area. By the 5th inning we moved over to 207 since the sun had crept up on most of 205 (all the way back to the back row). 'Obstructed view' seats were better than in the sun seats.

Sorry to anyone we annoyed with the seat hopping but we were successful in keeping both boys sunburn-free and I actually got to watch 4-5 full innings of an Aggie game for the first time in years... Success!!!

thanks - will rows 1-3 on the lower level 3rd base side be in the sun for the weekend games? I would think with a 2pm start sat 3rd base may be entirely in shade - esp with rain projected

I sit in row 1 on the 3rd base side. The shade doesnt' creep in until 3:30ish.

thanks - hope it won't be as hot this weekend! Weather showing 78 with a chance of rain so at least there should be cloud cover - should be comfortable out there

the ones that have an object obstructing a direct line to the sun.

I would say you will have to be in rows higher than 7 on the third base side to be in the shade during the earlier games.
