Video: 49-Hour Game
Q&A: Chris Field
Video: Gabe Bock, Mercy Project 'Strike Out Slavery'
*Note: I was TRYING to bunt into a double play at the end of the video so that we could end the game exactly at 49:00:00. We had no outs and were at around 48:58:00 so I had to do something. I'm not REALLY as slow as I appear in that video…haha!
I would like to start by thanking the few dozen of you who so generously donated to this event in my name. I was able to raise more than $10,000 toward "the cause" not because of anything that I did, but because of you and your generosity! TexAgs is a special place and I'm blessed to work for such a great company, and to have an online community that is as strong as this one! Thanks again!
I also want to thank Chris Field, Gretchen Nickson and everyone who played a role in putting on this event. You guys are the best at what you do and you do it with amazing hearts and great attitudes. I was blessed by you guys last weekend!
I honestly believe that this whole experience was one of the best "events" and best weekends I've ever had. I'll never forget the time that we struck out slavery and became World record holders all on the same weekend!
Our team lost by like 70 runs but everybody's a winner out there! And it's all about having a blast and doing something that you've never done and that nobody in the World has ever done! And it's about the amazing ministry at Mercy Project. We were able to raise a combined $49,000 and I'm sure that they giving will continue as the days and weeks roll along!
If you care at all, here are my final batting numbers: 12-for-24, 6 RBI, 6 R, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 4 K
The best part about my stats is that I went 2-for-2 with two RBI - including the two best hits that I had all weekend - when Megan and Ella were in the stands. That was a lot of fun and I could tell that Ella was proud of her daddy, the baseball player!
F5ers ... awesome meeting the guys that I hadn't previously been able to meet. And great seeing those of you who I know but have never gotten to spend much time with until now! Y'all are all awesome and I'm happy to have gotten to know you all!
