Arkansas
Houston
Rice
Tennessee
Texas
Texas Tech

Arkansas is the RPI prize in this field. Look for Rice to manipulate the schedule so they get to play the Razorbacks. Tennessee is terrible and in rebuilding mode.

I suppose Rice and Texas have patched things up and will play each other. Not a given though. TCU played in the 2010 MMP classic which means the frogs probably declinded the 2012 event.

While I enjoyed going to the HCC in 09, I hope our renovated stadium brings an annual early-season tournament to Olsen.

I sure hope that's right and somebody didn't just leave off a few letters.

All of those teams can rot in the classic in 2012... hopefully we'll play a game that means something.

No benefit to us playing in that s*** storm.

yes, that is my hope for 2013. If the Ags are making the return 3-game weekend trip to Fullerton that season, then there is no need to play in the MMP classic.

that would be 2 Feb/Mar weekends away from the new Blue Bell Park...and that was not the reason for building the new park...to have multiple empty (non-conference) weekends.

plus I believe there is a return trip to FIU coming up at some point in 2013 or 2014

I'm pretty sure I read where Texas and Rice will be playing their traditional 3-game series again in 2012...once at the Disch, once at Reckling and once at the HCC. Don't hold me to that but it seems that I've picked up that nugget of info somewhere.

I've heard there's 95% chance tu/rice return to their three game series. The only way it wouldn't happen is if Augie chickens out like he did this year. Which wouldn't shock me nor my friend who told me this info.

the horns, like every other Big 12 team, have an extra weekend available on their schedule now; so they can play Rice if they want to.

as an aside...hard to believe but looking back to the 2005 not-so-good season, A&M only played 27 home games that year. 3 of the first 4 weekends of the season were away from Olsen (including the MMP classic). Not sure why the schedule was set up so non-home friendly that season.

Childress has definitely changed that. With the new park and one less conference series, 38, 39, 40+ home games per year is the standard.

Yea, but I do believe you have to get away from home at least a little bit before Big 12 play starts. I would just hate to see our first time to get on a bus be for a trip to Norman, Oklahoma.

I've no desire to head out to San Marcos, Huntsville or Nacogdoches for a Tuesday game in February or March. Maybe a tourney in Arizona or Florida would be a good idea?

I would love to use the extra weekend in a series against a quality SEC, ACC or west coast team even if it means it is on the road every other year.

Like the Minute Maid Classic, just don't like having to face Rice and Cougar High each and every time we play in it.

If we are going to do a home and away with a major non-conference opponent, I'd like to do it with Arkansas. We have a long SWC history with them, Van Horn and Childress were at Nebraska together, and it's a very makeable road trip.

Just used OU as an example. Could have used Waco, Lubbock, Stillwater, etc. instead. My point was that I'd like to see the team get on a bus at some point prior to the start of Big 12 play.

dabo that would be a nice series but personally I would not want to be tied down for more than two seasons with each team getting the series at home. Part of the problem with Minute Maid is that the match ups are stale, always Rice and Houston.

Im ok with playing Arkansas H-A as long as we're guaranteed to win every single game. I dont think I can stomach a loss to Arky.

Maybe the Ags can play Arkansas at Jerryworld?!

I would like to see a 3-game road series each year before the start of conference play. And this one upcoming with Fullerton should work just fine. The neutral site tournament doesn't provide the same experience.

Teams I'd like to see in a home-and-home:

Alabama, Auburn, Kentucky ('cause SEC teams, even in down years, do good things for your RPI)

Fullerton, Fresno State, Oregon, Washington State (I'm guessing we could get a 2-for-1 out of these guys.)

Wichita State (just because I'd want to pound their you-know-what into the dirt)

I'd say play any of the SEC west schools H-A if possible.
