This was my first trip to the CWS. I was in Omaha from Saturday thru Wednesday and I will say it was one of the best trips I have taken with regards to A&M athletics is concerned.

From the moment we got to Omaha to the minute we flew out on Wednesday we had a blast. The city of Omaha goes all out for this show.

The baseball scene all around TD Ameritrade Park was non stop activities and party. The park had that feel that the CWS was shooting for primetime atmosphere while maintaining closeness to the game without feeling as if you were in a major league park.

All the teams that were there were well represented except California. I would guess we had somewhere between 1500 to 2000 Ags representing.

The #1 thing that I and everyone else who was there is that the general consensus was it's not just Aggies who hate and dislike the arrogance of tu. Especially the Nebraskans showed their displeasure of the longhorns pretty vividly and in the Omaha paper.

I spoke to several fans from all schools except Cal and no one had anything good to say about tu.

So it's not just us Aggies who live in this world of having the dislike for texas. Their arrogance is noticed and disliked by many fan bases and even some South Carolina fans said the Longhorn network is a joke and will fail.

unfortunately, some of their arrogance spills out onto the image of the rest of the state.

Yea, we definitely got the message that sips can go pound sand as far as Nebraskans care. I'm certain most know the difference between us and sippy. What we enjoyed the most was seeing people sporting gear from so many schools, even those not playing, and it didn't come off as d*****. We didn't even get s*** from sips. We had a blast at Rock Bottom Pub Tuesday night with a bnch of ISU guys, an FSU grad, and a tu/Rice couple. Throw in a tornado scare and it was really fun, a different kind of fun than Indy though. I hope it becomes tradition.

If you didn't have a chance to check out the Old Market, go by next year when we're back in Omaha. It's like Northgate on steroids

Upstream Brewery in Old Market. That's where we were during the tornado scare.

Did anyone else notice the t-shirts that had all 8 teams as a part of a cow? tu is the arse. Will be heading there tomorrow to pick up one.

My observations:

1. Great trip, hope we begin a new tradition of going more often.
2. Still not quite sure if LF sux or RF sux.
3. Over/Under on beachball deaths per game is 12.
4. Pissed there wasn't more Aggie gear available. Seemed lime we had the least amount there vs other 7 teams. tu seemed to have the most.
5. Other than the normal teasip crap, most obnoxious fans had to be LSU. Amazed at how many were there. Had beers with fans from most of the other teams there an had a great time discussing baseball.
6. Not a fan of the wave, but the slow-mo version followed by the fast version and finally the frozen wave was a new twist.
7. Disappointed they didn't take the opportunity to give tours of Rosenblatt especially with the auction being held today.
8. Speaking of Rosenblatt, new location downtown exponentially better.
9. Blame the loss Sunday on the 12th Man section deciding to do yells in the 8th & 9th innings as well as the War Hymm at the end of the 8th.
10. See #1

Yeah #9 is why we lost. All this time I thought it had to do with us only getting 4 hits and relievers unable to get an out in the 9th. I do agree with the other 9 points.

Aggie gear was apparently the #1 seller, which was why there wasn't as much on the shelves compared to other teams.

Neb has hated Texas since the forming of the Big 12 and left the Big 12 because of Texas, add in the Big 12 Championship game and the revenge they "wanted" last season and didn't get, and I can see what Neb is still bitter.

I have yet to do Omaha for the full 2-weeks, but that is on my bucket list. I think the 4-5 day trip early in the week is great as you get to see a lot of baseball.

How easy was it to get tickets for the games? Were the tickets expensive?

Thanks.

Tickets were easy to get - I bought a GA ticketbook for $80 (ten tickets). I cashed in 5 tickets for the A&M/SC game and paid the difference. If you do not have a reserved seat, you will have to wait in the GA line before the game. They let people in as SRO after the GA seats were filled. You will have no trouble getting in. However, if you care where you sit, then you will spend more time waiting in line (whether it is to upgrade GA tickets to reserved seating or in the GA line).

we used a local Omaha online ticket site: www.ticketexpress.com

Good customer service and you can pick up your tickets in Omaha, rather than have to sweat it out waiting your your tickets to arrive Fed Ex.

We wanted great seats, lower level ,near the dugouts and paid around $100 per ticket for the first round games. Second round games were in the $30-70 range for the same seats, depending on how close to game time you wanted to wait.
