Yes, it was a disappointing career at Texas A&M to say the least.
It is very rewarding for me to see a collegiate athlete have success on and off the field. The challenging schedules, time management and all the hard work they put into their sport for a few moments of fame if any. I can certainly say that it is all worth it.
Baseball is a humbling sport, the moment you think you have it figured out you realize there is more work to be done. The game taught me a lot about life in general. The older I get the more I appreciate Texas A&M University, Coach Mark Johnson, my teammates and of course the 12th Man.
I am proud for Coach Rob Childress and the success he is having. After talking with Coach Childress at former-player functions, I got the impression he really loved Texas A&M. After a few more conversations I wanted to play for him. He is very intense and told me that he wanted to win a National Title. As a former player and former student that's what I wanted to hear.
I really enjoy reading TexAgs and what the members have to offer. I truly believe there are greater things in store for Texas A&M University. Our athletic department is on a roll so let's be easy on Bill Byrne. He is a proven winner and wants to win at all cost. That is what you want in a AD.
Let's add some more hardware to the trophy case and go win a National Title in baseball.
