Does it annoy anybody else the coverage the SEC gets in baseball? I love college baseball and want lots more of it on TV. I just wish it included other conferences also. Think of all the good teams in Texas and Cali that aren't getting the coverage they deserve

You'll see more SEC baseball on fox sports than Big XII.

What a lovely conference.

could we see the horns/ESPN trying to move their home conference series to Thur-Fri-Sat?

also, if both A&M and Texas end up with their own networks...that should kill the split-series and I would okay with that.

with less teams now that should die anyway.

As long as we do the 3 way split with Baylor involved, I don't see them making any change to this series format. It helps the schools involved to always have at least one game versus the other two on the schedule. It also saves a hotel night. So, since it's good for the bottom line, I don't see that changing.

The Big 12 has never really taken baseball very seriously. Until very recently, I also felt that way about our AD, but that seems to have changed now. I doubt you'll ever see A&M on TV much as long as we're in the Big 12.

I think TV changes things for the split series. They would rather do an entire 3-game series in Austin vs. A&M or Baylor as opposed to the current setup. Only have to set up all the production equipment and personnel one time (1 weekend vs. 2 separate ones)

The way the split series are right now (from a cost standpoint) it's basically trading a hotel night for a bus ride. Over a 2-year period, the Ags will bus to Austin twice and stay one night in a hotel. Before the split series it was one bus ride to Austin and 2 hotel nights (every 2 years).

Also, if the program is going to start bringing in national opponents (like Fullerton) for 3-game series that would somewhat offset not having a game vs. the horns at Olsen each year. Especially in a season like 2011 where the horns' visit is on a Thursday night with school already out.

In fact if the split series were killed after this season, next year's home schedule would feature weekend series vs. Texas, OU, Tech, Fullerton, and FIU. That's a pretty good slate of ballgames.

Sad, but true.

Hopefully Texas A&M will be playing baseball in the SEC one day in the not too distant future.

Baseball is third tier, and with the sips having their own network, the only time the same network would carry the game is when A&M and Baylor play. I think the Horns will have an in house prodcution team, and I know that we already do, to produce these broadcasts, so I don't see TV being a factor favoring an end to the split series.
