I know New Era recent interests have been more in gangsta rap wear, but I don't understand why more schools don't go with their lines of practice caps and field caps.

You should be able to get a fitted ATM cap I think for about $20.
You can also go to Richardson caps and make your own fitted, solid maroon cap, and have them put a white "T" on it for about $15 to $20. These are basically New Era style caps--good quality. You can design any type of cap you want.

Just wait a few more weeks. New shipments will be coming into the bookstores in preparation for the beginning of baseball season. Plus I do know there were quite a few Adidas Fitted baseball hats (official ones-solid maroon) at the MSC Bookstore when I last went Nebraska weekend. Weird if they would have sold out but they could have due to the holidays. Just wait and check back with them in late Jan to early Feb. They will have more in I promise.

Don't wash a wool blend hat. It would ruin it. Use the cleaning solution they sell at Lids. I have a Pro-Line "Adidas" version of the hat and it was getting pretty sweat stained and smelled. I used a sponge and the solution with warm water (on the sponge) and was able to completely clean the hat. I mean it looked brand new. Stains were all gone and most importantly so was the smell.

Ocean... I already washed it. That's how I found out.
Capitol, I just hand washed it with some water and laundry detergent. If this one starts giving me headaches, I'll have to get another one and use your method when it gets nasty.
That is why I tried the Lids cleaner. I had a couple of hats shrink on me and decided to try it. I was skeptical at first but it did not take very long and worked great just following the directions using the sponge. I was really surprised.
