We've had our share of players get over worked throughout the year, esp under Rob.
There's a difference between overworking and insanity. You could argue that Rob overused Raley last year, but it wasn't anything unique to baseball. Baseball is a grinding sport, no matter what people say about it. Players will wear down. Fact of the game.
Letting a kid throw 170 pitches in one game is insane. Now I'm against pitch counts and think that 100 is just a made up number in the professional leagues. That was a case where Augie shouldve pulled him, regardless on how good the kid felt. It's his responsibility to his kids to develop and coach them. It was a helluva performance by woods, but augie was wrong on that decision. Of course it's easy to say that now, after the fact, where we know how it affected woods.
Of course, folks can argue the same thing about T-Star and his nine inning performance against Nebraska. He was never the same after that game. So it's not just Augie. Wayne has done it too.
