In a heated battle with some ignorant Big 12 friends on which conference is better. Obviously this is a complete no brainer and every sane person in the country agrees but I need some factual ammunition and don't have the time to compile and look it all up. If any of you have time or know some facts off the top of your head please post.

*Their go to arguments are the OU vs Bama sugar bowl (damn Bama for even giving them a string of hope that year)

*0-2 vs Big12 this year

*Bad bowl outcome last season.

Thanks

You can't convince irrational thinkers with rational responses. Their conference sucks. They have gone through great lengths of mental gymnastics to convince themselves otherwise. They are not going to listen to anything you say that challenges the paradigm they have created for themselves. Just ignore them.

Let's see:

-everyone in the conference is Bevo's B!+<#
-Bevo will blow up the conference someday and the rest will fall to CUSA

Record vs power 5 (plus ND and BYU): 3-3
SEC Record vs Power 5: 4-2

Bad Losses:
-every game Kansas has played, got destroyed at home by
-Iowa state lost by a TD to Toledo
-Sips getting destroyed @ ND
-Sips choking at home vs Cal

Almost Losses:
-oSu looked bad at Central Michigan
-tcu struggled against mediocre Minn team, struggled vs SMU
-baylor looked bad against Lamar in home opener, SMU was matching TD drives w/ Baylor until Matt Davis's leg cramped up
-ou struggled vs Tulsa
-It took tech 3 quarters to put Sam away
-La Tech took KSU to overtime in Kansas
-Rice outgained the sips by 200 yards

Last year the SEC went a very disappointing 7-5 in bowl games. The Big 12 went 2-5, with 2 SEC victories head to head over the Big Shart.

Further, it was WVA and A&M - both at 7-5, and t.u. and Arkansas were both 6-6, and both SEC schools won convincingly, with the latter game not only being a 31-7 blowout, but also an outright embarrassment for t.u.

There were 16 BCS Championships awarded over the 16-year time period of the existence of the Bowl Championship Series. Here's the Conference Breakdown:
Big 10, Pac 10 and Big East = 1 each
Big Dumpster Fire and ACC = 2 each
SEC = 9; 3 from the East, 6 from the West

And then, maybe, tell 'em to suck it.

What I loved most was Bob Stoops calling BS on Nick Saban saying the team was still hungover from the loss to Auburn (the field goal return), but then Ole Bob used the same excuse when they got absolutely trashed by Clemson...

Have you been able to diagnose exactly what happened in that Clemson game?

In the end, to me, it ultimately falls in my lap. I didn't do a good enough job getting -- maybe, again, maybe, part of it -- a little bit of a hangover over the last game (a stunning 38-35 home loss to Oklahoma State).
You look around, and in a lot of cases, teams who lose that last game before the bowl game, it can have a little bit of an effect. I didn't do a good enough job being able to erase that, whether it be coaches or players. In the end, we didn't do a good enough job.

In my mind, the true measure of SEC vs. Big 12 superiority comes down to the Cotton Bowl, which was designed to measure the best teams in each conference. Here's data, although the new BCS Bowl series has ended the long-time guaranteed rivalry between the two conferences:

The Big 12 has lost 12 of the last 16 Cotton Bowls, in which the SEC has won 11 and Michigan State beat Baylor last year.

From 2004 to 2014 the SEC won 9 of 10 Cotton Bowls with the only loss being Missouri over Arkansas in 2008, and guess what Mizzou is now an SEC school.

Also, when these knuckleheads start talking about the OU vs. Bama Sugar Bowl victory, you can remind them of the 516 yards Manziel laid on them (Cotton Bowl Record btw) in the 2013 Cotton Bowl during that 41 to 13 asswhooping. Stoops still has nightmares about that game.

No one I know from OU ever wants to discuss or think about that game again, nor do they want any part of playing us!
