Not sure if their visiting fanbase is the same as their home fans, but after our trip to Oxford last year, I used one word to sum up how we were treated - we were "tolerated".
Spent a ton of time walking around the Grove, and not one person said a negative thing to me. However, I also didn't receive eye contact with a single one of them - asked my wife, "are we invisible or something?". Tried to smile, nod, say 'howdy' (switched to plain old 'hi' after howdy got ignored and I thought maybe it was offending them or something).
Just weird - especially compared to the A&M experience where visitors for the most part can't walk half a block without being offered food or beer and good football talk.
At one point late in the day near kickoff, one of the girls in our group was damn-near dehydrated, so I spotted the nearest Ole Miss tent (still in Grove) where I saw an open ice chest with water bottles. Asked (yes, politely) if I could have a water for the dehydrated lady. The woman actually wrinkled her nose at me as if I'd asked for money or something. After a second, she reached into the ice chest and pulled out a bottle, but then as she was handing it to me she turned back to her friends and resumed their conversation - she actually let go of the bottle before it got anywhere near me, so I had to catch it before it hit the ground.
Like I said, we felt "tolerated" and that was about the best I can say.
