quote:
Stoops’ original point is that (A) SEC teams are generally underscheduled, (B) the SEC’s punching bag teams are just as soft as everyone else’s and (C) just because the SEC won the seven previous BCS titles doesn’t mean it will play at that level automatically.

Stoops pointed out that Missouri made the SEC title game last year and that Texas A&M won at Alabama in 2013. “And they weren’t overwhelming in the Big 12,” Stoops said.

Stoops also pointed that the Big 12 teams all play each other and the 14-team SEC does not. Alabama dodged both Florida and South Carolina in 2012 and 2013, its most recent BCS national title years, and only ran into Georgia in the 2013 SEC title game.

Stoops needs to return to recruiting and coaching his team and try to beat powerhouse Baylol this year; he's not a very good troll.

So WE beat Alabama and we're a bottom of the BDF team (that BTHO hours team in the Cotton Bowl) that never did anything, but a year later he beats Alabama and they're the best team/conference in America!???? Then goes on to bash us with the "toughies" thing on ESPN? Jealous much?

Stoops is desperate. Desperate people tend to say stupid stuff hoping nobody notices how stupid they sound. KDS is kicking his butt in recruiting. What else can he do?

I think his point is that neither Missouri or A&M were all that good in the Big 12 yet moved to the SEC and almost immediately won a division title and beat their best team on the road.

It can be argued that if the SEC was as good as people would like to think it is from top to bottom, those things wouldn't have happened.

Stoops is just a lying whiner.

Yesterday, the SECN replayed 2004 OU/LSU championship game. They played a clip of Stoops whining about the B1G and the PAC not having a CCG. Like it was unfair, or something.

Both Stoops and Mack often said the Big XII CCG was a problem for them and they hated it because that game had kept both of them out of the national championship game over the years.

Well, Stoops got what he wanted...no Big XII CCG. Of course, now that fact alone will probably keep them out of the play-offs in some years.

The realization is just beginning to dawn on him. It doesn't really matter whether his team takes care of business and wins the Big XII. He has to hope other teams in the other power conferences beat each other up enough to allow the Sooners to rise in the ratings. He is no longer the master of his fate.

And that is pissing the hell out of him.

This might make some sense if A&M didn't destroy the Big XII champ in the bowl game. Missouri went 2-6 in SEC play in year 1.

Blanket analysis by BIG XII members....

Doesn't work here. Coaching changes and having 4 stud seniors in the front 7 on D allowed Aggies to flourish in 2012, along with the Kingsbury and Manziel relationship.

Mizzou just needed another year to warm up. The two school's success in the SEC is not related what-so-ever to the "See, the Big XII really is better argument, because look what happened..."

Different set of circumstances. I agree with my fellow Ags that Stoops is effectively trying to launch a negative media campaign against the SEC et al to avoid a recruiting and image slump. It's a page out of Karl Rove's playbook really. Ignore the facts, just badmouth. tu and ou can take a jump onto I-35 for all we care.

That argument lasts about as long as it takes to realize that Sumlin is not Sherman and Manziel is not of this world.

It makes it even better that Stoops was the coach on the other side of the field when his co-champion Sooners got crushed by the 5th place SEC team.

The Big 12 is trying to win a championship with talking points. Hopefully the SEC gets matched up with them in a game that matters come January.

The Stoops butthurt is delicious. He knows he's going to be a perennial top 20-25 program soon. Only reason he's not there already is that he plays in the BDF, where there is very little competition.

In order to believe the unbelievably stupid bdf talking points you must pretend that Mizzou's 2012 season never happened, and the 2013 Cotton Bowl never happened.

Duh, really? that's what he said?

His point, however you think you might simplify it, is demonstrably wrong, ignoring the new coach, a Heisman winner, and a beatdown by one of those teams of his own damn team in the Cotton Bowl.

He's trying, but not every effectively.

Stoops' logic is faulty because teams change from year to year.

None of the rim-jobbers present for these comments wanted to point to the eleventy-billion pound elephant in the room?
