I thought sips were on unreasonable amounts of medications but this one had me nearly lose my lunch laughing so hard!

No more Texas schools, please.

Honestly, I hope we stay at 10 for 100 years. But if we had to add members, time to poach from the SEC (that is, if their "14" member thing starts to wear thin), then go for Arkansas and LSU. Supposedly, LSUers have a big problem with SEC offices being so close to Bama, and have often been vocal about scheduling benefiting Bama. Use this dilemma to stir the pot and actually make them think about it. Arkansas has a lot of history with Texas and all those schools dating back to the SWC days. Plus, they really are in our neck of the woods, so travel makes sense as well. There's your play Big 12.

If we can't go big, then don't make a move at all.

Can you believe they actually think LSU would leave for that garbage conference? It must be the new logo that's so attractive.
At any rate, the consensus around the xii is adding Byu (the other premadonna next to "you know who") I couldn't imagine sips and bywho in the same conference. That thing would self destruct in no time flat!

Don't know about LSU. They'd be trading Alabama for a program that dominates their conference 10-100 times more with about 1/12 the success of Bama. I seriously doubt the coon asses are that foolish, but they have little experience with the sips so anything is possible I suppose.

As for Arkansas, Frank Broyles would personally defeat a seven nation army trying to get the hogs unified with the sips. His ghost will carry on with this duty for the next few thousand years.

I could see Arkansas moving as a serious possibility at some point, but not LSU despite their grievances of having to play Florida annually. Never mind the fact that they have played Florida annually since 1970, I think.

LSU is a founding member of the SEC. They like playing Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn and us. The exposure in the SEC will be light years ahead of the XII. They aren't leaving no matter how much they *****.

I am no fan of the SEC's permanent rival thing and wish it gone myself, but it is hard to take LSU's "grievance" seriously at a time when Florida loses to the likes of Georgia Southern. I don't expect Florida to be that far down for too long, though.

This is a little hard to believe, but LSU was 3-15-1 against the Gators from 83 to 01.

And how would that work with TCU and West Virginia? Does anyone seriously think Arkansas and LSU would be content with partial shares of even less conference money for several years? TCU and West Virginia were okay with it because they were getting out of the Big Least.

Further, the rights granted to form the SEC would have to be withdrawn for those schools and they would have to monetize those rights themselves, since there will never be a Big XII network.

Stupid move all the way around and a non-starter.

The Aggies owned lsu from 1986 to 1995 in the renewed ten games series from that period and the little kittens tucked tail and ran and didn't want play us anymore. Although they may have a two game headstart in this renewed rivalry, I have a feeling that within the next decade that they will again throw-in the towel and, who knows, bolt for a safer (errr, I mean "softer") conference.

No SEC team is going to the BDF! What a joke! As time marches on the disparity in revenue for SEC schools verses Big 12 schools will get greater and greater!

Go to the BDF and get in bed with the worst business partner in college football? I don't think so! Tu is the business partner from hell they latch on to a conference bleed it for all it is worth and then try to move on to another host. Arkansas got away from them once they are not going to go down that road again. And surely the powers that be at LSU aren't that stupid.

Sips are always good for a chuckle or two. Heck their football coach is named chuckles.

I'd love to see UL-Lafayette added to the B12.

I think with a major conference they could be better than Iowa St and Kansas. Probably better than K-St long term (post-Snyder)

I agree with you Rusty. When I bring that up, most people look at me like I'm crazy, though.

With bdf resources, the Cajuns could easily pass and/or match Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, West Virginia, TCU, and Baylor in terms of conference titles and overall department success. It would also be a new market for that conference, and possibly allow them a chance to compete for recruits in the fertile Louisiana territory. It took baylol over 15 years to compete, UL could probably come up to speed in less than half that time.

They'll never do it. But it really should be something that they look into, if proximity and potential matter. the cubbies, toads, cyclones, techtards, etc would never be willing to give them equal shares. WV and TCU were on a 4-year plan, maybe the bdf should offer like an 8-year plan. ie: they get 1/8 shares in year 1, 1/4 in year 2, etc.

Don't get me wrong. Everyone should follow the full partners immediately model, but the bdf won't so that's why I toss out the 8-year idea

Hawg Fan chiming in..

Arkansas will never be in another conference with texas (spit).

Too many G-D times getting screwed over by refs, and the SWC that texas (spit) tried to run as their own fiefdom.

It was the best decision ever by Frank Broyles, to get into the SEC. He had a lot of questionable decisions, but going to the SEC was absolutely the walk-off grand slam homerun for Arkansas.

There are a few very old very gray-haired ffolkes from the 1960's who preach the subject of joining the Big 12 to "bring back" that Texas rivalry.

As someone stated, Broyles' will not let that happen in any shape or form.. current board and AD will not let that happen.

Any noise you hear about Arkansas joining the BDF is someones wishfull thinking about the glory days of 50 effin years ago.

Nope.. not going to happen.. NFW!!

North Texas might jump too...Apogee Stadium would be unreal if Kansas and Iowa State came to visit in the same year!!!

Additionally, there is a real possibility that SEC schools are going to walk away from $25M/year in SECN fees (on top of other TV revenues) to go to the Big 12 with a TV footprint about a third of the SEC and with the LHN that precludes a conf network. And, be held hostage for a decade by the GOR.

Burn baby, burn.....she's all yours.

A big round of applause to those a part of the 40 acre brass for really thinking things through when it came to the LHN. The Aggies don't miss you and I hope you enjoy your viewership numbers.

Oh, looks like based on the previous stats that those in Austin are obsessed with A&M's success...aww you miss us...look at the numbers at the bottom...24.0 Rating.

So, a little question for the horns'...do you really think the big xii is getting better exposure now? Hard to say 'yes' isn't it?

Your national relevance is dwindling...have fun!

LSU to the BDF would do wonders for their recruiting. Negatively.

Goodness. Some people think their crap don't stink so thoroughly; they expect someone to walk away from a perfect steak dinner to scarf it down.

If tu thinks they can't recruit for **** with A&M in the SEC imagine how tough they would have it competing even more directly with LSU.

Even if by some delusional miracle LSU moved to the BDF it would be an unmitigated disaster or Katrina proportions for the tu football program.

There is no way a single team in the SEC would leave. Not even a huge check. The SEC is literally the goose that lays golden eggs... As long as college football exists, the Southeast will reign.
