The ink was hardly dry on the new SEC P5 scheduling mandate when LSU announced it was canceling its home/home arrangement with North Carolina State. LSU was to host the Wolfpack in 2017 and return the game to Raleigh in 2020.

The cancellation leaves LSU with Georgia Southern, Syracuse and Troy, all at home, in 2017. Apparently, LSU interpreted the P5 mandate as a cap, not as a floor.

NC State sucked last year. Syracuse at least went to a bowl. Plus, a game with Syracuse will get a lot of national buzz b/c 'cuse is in New York. The game with NC State probably would have received very little.
