Having visited Arkansas several times in my life I can clearly state that there is no easy transition from the Republic of to that little hill billy that rides on our shoulder. Getting anywhere is hard enough, which is why it's called "The Natural State". What else are you going to call a place with no money to develop infrastructure?

180 degree change in philosophy on offense combined with no production from qb and years of ignoring the defensive side of the ball in recruiting..qb improvement will be seen next fall but the defense may take more than one or two recruiting classes to fix the problem

If Arkansas is counting on recruiting classes then you're **** out of luck.

Bielema coached at Wisconsin from 2006 to 2012. Per Rivals.com, here is The Badgers recruiting ranking for those years:

2006: 40th
2007: 34th
2008: 41st
2009: 43rd
2010: 88th
2011: 40th
2012: 57th

So tell me Ray, Do you honestly think Bielema is going to magically recruit better at ARKANSAS???????????

How did his teams perform? My guess is those recruiting rankings held and he never finished in the top.30.

don't put alot of stock in recruiting rankings...see ut....but he came in late last year and put up a nice class. this class will also wind up ranked somewhere in the 20's most likely, but again, rankings don't matter...filling your needs matters and with UA, lb's and safties are our needs which we haven't filled in this class yet.

as far as UW's recruiting rankings...seems like those rankings say more about the guys that did the rankings than it does about UW given 3 consecutive Rose Bowls.

Really??? If those three teams would have played in the SEC, what bowl games do you think they would have played in Ray??

Not really the point now is it? The question was based on UW's recruiting rankings relative to where they finished. They were ranked behind several other Big Ten schools yet finished ahead of them on the football field. I'm sure UW doesn't generate Bobby Burton and other services a lot of subscriptions like Arkansas doesn't and, therefore, doesn't get a lot of love when it comes to recruiting rankings!

Forget about recruiting. Fat man will make that gap up by being able to out game plan all the dumb sub par coaches in the SEC. Everybody knows the SEC coaching staffs are dumb.

All that time game planning in the big 10 is about to pay off huge.

Well I guess the point is Ray is if those WI teams were ranked below several SEC schools in recruiting would they have finished ahead of them in wins?? I am thinking the answer is "no" based on the current strength of the B1G.

A recruiting class in the 20s would put Arkansas at 10th or 11th in the conference (I think they are currently 12th, trailing Vanderbilt and Kentucky but one spot ahead of Mizzou and 5 spots ahead of Mississippi State) and 6th in the SEC West.

Pretty tough to overcome trailing half your division by 20 spots.
