I know you guys are pretty new to the SEC and know some things, but not all about the rivalry between LSU & Auburn. This series has had some incredibly bizarre games.

Aggie related because A&M plays both teams.

Here are some highlights from the series:

1988 - Earthquake Game - Tommy Hodson throws a last second touchdown to Eddie Fuller to defeat Auburn. Tiger Stadium crowd goes so crazy that it registers on a seismograph on campus.

1994 - Interception Game - LSU goes into the fourth quarter up 23-9, but Jamie Howard throws 5 interceptions including 3 pick 6's. Auburn wins 30-26

1995 - Bring Back the Magic Game - Troy Twillie intercepts a last second pass in the endzone to seal an LSU victory.

1996 - Barn Burner - A barn on Auburn's campus catches on fire during the game. The game was televised and you could see the fire outside the stadium the entire game.

1999 - Cigar Game - Auburn players and Tommy Tuberville smoked cigars on the eye of the tiger after defeating LSU.

2001 - Kicker/Band Fight Game - Auburn's kicker, Damon Duvall, got into a shoving match with the LSU band during half time, since Duvall decided to practice kicking in the middle of the band's routine. LSU won 27-14 and went to the SEC championship.

2004 - New Rule Game - Auburn tied the game 9-9 with a little over a minute to play. They missed the extra point, but were able to re-kick due to a rule that a defender couldn't land on an offensive player. They made the extra point the second time and won.

2005 - Missed Field Goal Game - John Vaughn missed 5 field goals for Auburn in a loss.

2007 - Last Second Heroics - Matt Flynn threw a last second pass to Demetruis Byrd for a touchdown giving LSU a 26-21 victory.

There are plenty other great games between these two programs, but these are just some of the wacky ones.

JFF throws a last second game winning TD then drops a duece on the eye of the tiger; walks off the field carrying a bayou b***h over each shoulder

#1 LSU Narcissist is obsessed with us so he thinks we care about the LSU/Auburn rivalry.

Until the 90s, no one at LSU cared about Auburn. I doubt many so now.

And no one thinks its one of the best rivalries except you. Hell, it's not even one of either teams biggest rivals.

Notice, most of the games I listed are from 90's and 2000's. I said one of the best rivalries in the SEC. It wasn't really a rivalry until the Earthquake Game.

I would list LSU's biggest rivals currently as:
1. Alabama (Was lower before these 2 teams established themselves as the best 2 in the West)
2. Auburn (Was the game for the SEC West crown for most of the 2000's)
3. Florida
4. Texas A&M (moving up rapidly)
5. Ole Miss (Was huge back in the 60's and 70's. Hasn't been as of late)
6. Arkansas (forced. Nobody really cares about Arkansas)

Auburn's would be:
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. LSU
Don't really know after that

So, yeah they are pretty high on each other's lists.

It is definitely the matchup which has created the most bizarre games/events.

I've followed SEC football for a long time, and I love the LSU-Auburn games. No matter how good/bad each team is, this is always a close game with a lot of hard hits. It's one of the better minor-rivalries in college football.

OP's post was more Aggie football related than half the threads on this board.

You clearly have an issue with me. A bunch of people on here have stated they appreciated this post.

You apparently didn't see the post where I gave Aggies plenty of suggestions for their weekends in BR later on in the season.

I talk a lot more about football than most people on this board. I am not sure why you have a problem with that.
