1. LSU and FL losing was good for us if we take advantage. We can pick up the SEC banner and possibly finish as the #2 SEC team and top 5 nationally.
2. A lot of the SEC talk here is probably a reflection of what we've had to endure the last couple of years- so now that we're part of it and excelling, we're going to tout how good it is and throw it in the faces of the other conferences who said we'd get killed. (better to argue that it is a great conference and we STILL excelled, than claim it was just over-rated).
3. The SEC is doing fine if Ags and Bama win, and I think they will. In fact, it will probably have its best finish in a long time as far as teams in top 10/top 20.
I think I was pretty nail on the head, with apologies to twk, whose opinion I disagree with wholeheartedly.
FL and LSU losing did not hurt the SEC perception because A&M and Bama dominated, as did SEC in the final rankings.
Without their losses, A&M would not be in the Top 5, which is a major accomplishment for us and additional momentum builder.
Equating that to LHN or any kind of t.u. arrogance is just so off base. Almost seems seems like you would have wanted A&M to lose that game in Tuscaloosa at the time- I mean that victory appeared to end the SEC NC string!
We're a conference, but we have to root for our own team first to excel and finish the highest it can in conference and in the nation.
