I'd agree with you if the elitists didn't have a point. Sure, come to the games, yell til your lungs bleed, have fun, support this awesome team. No problem there. But for the love of God, let's try using our brain before posting on here so that this doesn't turn into a cesspool like the football board does. You couldn't have a quality discussion last year because there were 20 threads on the same damn topic, and so many freaking 'experts' who would come give us their opinion on why Junior should start over Davis/AK, or why Durant is horrible, or yada yada @#$!@ing blah. I don't mind someone coming on asking a genuine question about the game, even if it's something fundamental. We all have to learn somewhere, and we're all still learning. I don't pretend to know everything there is to know. What annoys me are the self righteous ass kites (I'm taking that one) who think they know everything there is to know about basketball and can't believe you don't see things their way.

I can't say I blame Bob at all, because if you want to have an actual conversation about college basketball, Texags is the last place to look.

So you admit that it isn't so much a basketball thing since it happens on the football board, as well.

I guess that is the number one thing that annoys the hell out of me, yes. Like I said, I don't mind genuine questions about the game, we're new to this kind of world (and you have to admit, college football and college basketball are two completely different worlds). We all have to ask somewhere when we don't know. And I'd love to have that kind of atmosphere here. But it seems every basketball season this place turns into the indoor version of the football board and absolutely sucks.

You know its the offseason when we all start fighting with eachother. To think we got along so well this summer.

absolutely. a&m in general has more visible "goofball fans" than most other schools. but the biggest reason for that is that the avg student is more interested/involved at a&m with respect to athletics in general than you will find at most other schools. we have just as many knowledgable fans as most other schools...but we also have a lot more "casual fans" that like to be involved. not a bad thing.

i just love the "you're not a good ag" bit from the football board coming from fans who didn't step into reed more than twice a year until a&m cracked the top 15.

Watching the sky fall after every loss last year under Gillispie makes me think most of the posters ARE idiots. Every football game I go to and every post I see after losses on the baseball and basketball boards makes me think our fans are idiots overall.

I'd like to point out in my own defense that in that post I said nothing about the knowledge associated about either the game of basketball or knowledge of A&M basketball.

I was pointing to the lack of knowledge about the basketall landscape as a whole, and that is a point which on the whole I feel can't be argued. Only someone truly dillusional would think that our basketball board has the same grasp of current events as the Kansas board. I'm really glad this stupid thread has more posts than almost any other thread on the board though.
