He wears a hairpiece. He had a receding hairline back when he played at Okie State, and when he first started coaching.
Now look at his hair. That's a rug. It's obvious if you look closely enough. It was on sideways during the Okie State game on Big Monday!

It's not a rug.
I live in Edmond, OK, Self's hometown. He had male pattern baldness in HS. If its not a rug he has had a plug job at the very least.
