There's no need to sift through 15 attendance complaining threads.

I want to go, but can't afford $25/ticket games.

Complaining about pre-conference attendance is an excercise in futility. We are a football school in a football state. Football will always be more important than basketball at this school even if we won a national championship. Correct me if i'm wrong but t.u. didn't even pack out there arena during pre-conference even after they made it to the final four. That't just the way it is. If you don't like it you should have gone to Duke.

I'll chime in my 2 cents since I've been around for a little while. This is my last semester in school (class of 06) and for the past 4 years I went to about 95% of the home games. It was really easy to go as a freshman because I was on campus, and after that I didn't live too far away so I just rode my bike to the games for the next 3 years. This semester I use the bus to get to class because I don't have a parking pass. So I would either have to find a bus to take me out there or stay on campus all day long. Thus I have sadly not been to any games all year. I just don't feel like going out of my way to watch us play these teams when I can just as easily watch every game on Aggie All Access.

I know I am only one person, but I realize that there are tons of other people who feel the same way I do. Don't have a parking pass, can't walk or ride a bike to the game, and am generally unmotivated to devote 3 hours on a school night to making my way to Reed to watch us pound on a team in a preseason game. My guess is there are lots of others out there like me.

Coop, do you really not have any friends or a girlfriend that either
a)would go to the game and take you with them, or
b)has a parking pass they won't be needing on a Monday night??

The vast majority of people with all sports passes either live on campus, live off campus and have a parking pass, are within biking distance of the arena, or have someone they live with or friend whom they can borrow their parking pass or get a ride to the game with...

And even then worst case, one can bite the bullet and pay $5 to park.

I think you situation has very little to do with our current attendance problems overall.

seriously, though, how long have we been a national basketball "power"? 6 months? give the students time to adjust. it's the end of November, and like it or not, this is football time. not to mention that the football team has actually given A&M something to be proud of for the first time under the current regime in the month of November. i want the crowd at Reed to be capacity as well. but you don't build a devoted following overnight. and you don't do it in Texas in November, especially Texas A&M in November following a victory over Texas.

again, give the students time to get used to being basketball fans. they'll be there. i have faith in them.

There are 16 Go**amned attendance complaining threads on the first page. That's effing ridiculous. Try and keep them to one or two so when someone slides in a secret "Top 10!" or "BCFG is awesome!" or "UCLA/LSU trip" thread people can find it.

maybe we should just tell Jones, Law IV, AK, Carter, etc. not to show up if they have a paper or a test to do the week of the game...

some people actually study during the week. everyone complaining should STFU.

Hopefully this is readable, but i looked at all the teams ranked ahead of us and looked at their attendance. Granted these teams have been powerhouses in the past but it is really telling about the support they receive. If it isnt readable i will try and edit the post..

Well I do know this, about 1,000 ACCT 209 students had an exam last night at 7:15...probably didn't make that much of a differnece but it kept me from making it!
