I simply cannot take the flopping anymore. You spend more time on your back than a $2 *****. If you were tall and lanky, or even uncoordinated, it might be a different story. However, though you seem to be incredibly agile with the ball off the dribble, the slightest touch manages to send you spinning off into the camera guys. You've got the talent to get to the hoop and draw the contact. I don't need your theatrics.

he should be. that top 5 has been set for a while. in other news, no 2 have been from the same team since the kings blew their conference finals team up.

Who can forget SJax bringing SA back from 20 points down at Dallas in Game 6 of the 2003 Western Conf Final? Shot the Spurs right back into the game, and set the stage for Steve Kerr to stick in the final knives to close the deal.

Inconsistent as hell, but absolutely fearless in the clutch. Didn't hit them all, but he was equal to the moment more often than not.

and he's not afraid to punch a fan in the face!

You might as well just put Manu up at #1 right now then. It's still early in his career so you'll have to suffer thru several more years of this.

His act was straight in SA. I guess Pop and all of the vets on the roster have a way of making guys fly right while they are in Silver and Black.

The Spurs knew when to dump him. I obviously don't condone his actions in the ugly Pacers/Pistons incident.

and as for putting manu at #1, he's got to earn that. peja earned that right, and just like preseason polls, its his till he loses it or someone takes it from him.

Every one who wears shorts on a basketball flops and bounces around like a toy. Ive seen Ben freaking Wallace, Karl Malone and Shaq all take dives, when everyone knows they could have just brushed off the opponent.

Manu, goes out every night and goes through HELL to get to the rim. He gets his ASSES KICKED every night. He over exxagerates things, but he has a small right to do so, because few players take the nightly beating he does.

Funny, those are 4 of my favorite players in the NBA and all 4 of them completely own the Mavs.

If you are a Mavericks fan, which I am not, I'd like to know where Mike Bibby ranks on that list. I would assume the 2002 and 2004 playoffs would be enough for him to qualify for a Top 5 spot.

But that is just me.

Manu irks me too with his flopping. I played soccer for 19 years and saw way too much of stuff like that. I respect his game and think he is a great player but it's just too much for me.

Manu flopped/acted WAY more last year.

I'm not a Mavs fan and he is VERY high on my most hated list. I give him credit for his remarkable offensive skills but I get incensed when he turns into Vlade Divac on defense. The soccer-style get-breathed-on-wrong-and-I-just might-need-a-limb-transplant crap gets old.

Once again, the obsession w/ the Mavs contiues...the original posts had nothing to do w/ the Mavs but people feel obligated to start bashing them...hmmmm...if we're really that irrelevant, why talk about us??

SJax screwed up bad and refused a 3yr/$10M deal with SA because he wanted a clause in his contract that said he would start. Pop isn't going to do that for anybody not named Tim Duncan.

SJax then went on to sigh a 1yr/$1M contract with the Hawks - OUCH.

I still miss him though and wish he would have stuck around. Pop was one of the only people that seemed to be able to keep him in line.

Manu and Tony both have been to my Mom's elementary school and did not leave until they had spoken and/or signed something for everyone they saw...Tony came last year and told his assistant to just "go wait in the car, I'm not ready to go yet."

Two class guys and great representatives of the game...but what do I know, I'm just a Spurs fan...

The thing about Manu is so love / hate is that he gives his all 100% of the time - same with Bowen. I think the same was said of Pete Rose, who would try just as hard in the ninth up by 10 as he would when the game was on the line. I think it is our normal people mentality to not give our best a majority of the time so we make ourselves feel better by knocking those that do.

I can just see it now. Manu, about to sign an autograph, asks for a pen. Someone from the side lightly tosses the pen in Manu's direction. Instead of just catching the pen, Manu lets it hit him in the chest and falls dramatically to the floor. While on the floor he looks up at the teacher looking for a foul call.

I just know I wouldn't want to be sitting under/near the basket when Ginobili is on the floor.

Are you retarded? This thread was started by a Mav-neck bashing a Spur, unrelated to a game or an award or a series or standings. It was just out of the blue, on a Mavs night off.

FWIW-Neither the Mavs nor the Spurs were mentioned in the original post...and players from at least 4 different teams were named, so I don't think there was any 'obsession' from a Mavs fan. Just an NBA fan hating Manu for being a flopper.
