I am thinking that the key to this year’s Big XII standings and whether or not A&M makes the NCAA cut off will be the play of Antanas Kavaliauskas. Not so much his play specifically but what it can do for others.

Antanas can really open it up for Joseph Jones under the net. Unlike last year the other teams will have to put a forward on Joseph and not sag in on him.

With strong under the basket play Acie Law, Dominique Kirk , and Eddie Smith will get better looks on the perimeter.

Of course I am biased since my grandmother came over at the turn of the last century – it’s a Lithuanian thing!

Judging by the last exhibition, you may have to factor Edjuan Green into that equation also. It looks like he's elevated his game quite a bit since last season.

Yeah I would just say the play of Antanas, Marlon and Edjuan. We need a couple of those guys to step up.

i think we'll be fine down low once AK catches on. jones is just unreal. my concerns are:

chemistry, especially once martellus comes aboard.

developing a consistent outside threat besides law. kirk has shown flashes and josh carter is a hot topic.

Weishuhn was in street clothes and on crutches at the first exhibition. I haven't heard anything on a timeframe for his return.

even if he were healthy, he wouldnt see the floor this year. hes a non factor

i think it's really important for someone other than Law and Jones to step up because it's very easy for our opponents to key in on say Jones... who is our best player.

All I know is that if we finish the B12 9-7 or better and win our first round conf playoff game, and don't stub our toes in the pre-season, we're in. If we don't do those three things, we're probably out.

That'll do it OK, but that's a pretty tall order ... 'specially that Big12 part.

I think Slade is a physical project. He redshirted. He is just kind of late bloomer. He has height, but needs to fill out, get stronger.

I think he will be a contributor his upperclass years. He is smart and aggessive enough, has a nice shoot, needs to get stronger.
