he was NOT a lottory pick as projected!!

Great Job and the best of luck AW. The boys on ESPN were saying how some stupid early picks forced some great talent out of the lottory (picks 1-14) and AW was the first out of that.

Charlie Villeneuva(sp)?????? Come on??!!

AW might have been a lottery pick had it not been a North Carolina "orgy," particularly by nearby Charlotte.

Orgy or not, those Carolina guys can play. They proved that all year. Say what you want about a tough Big 12, but to go to a school like North Carolina and play that brutal ACC schedule you have got serious talent. I like Wright but I would have took the Tar Heel players before him as well. Some will argue the McCants pick but he's good, damn good. Just my opinion.

***didn't see your wink...damn early morning reading texags**** oh well..i've still seen people ***** about his decision

i don't see how anyone can say he made a bad decision. he was drafted 15th overall in the NBA draft.

people make a big deal that he wasn't a lottery pick...the difference between 14 (lottery) and 15 (non-lottery) is $60,000/year. I think he made a great decision.

He is very level headed..so I would hope he is going to be smart with his money.

As far as the basketball goes, he is going to a team that made the playoffs...I would much rather be a mid-teen pick (playoff team that needs a little help) then a mid lottery pick (crappy team that needs a lot of help)

Just my 2 cents...but Antoine made a great decision.

How much more would he make if he was picked 7th next year? And yes, I realize he could have come back, gotten injured and never been drafted. He could also come back and been drafted #1, but neither of those are my question. How much more would he make as the #7 pick?

Its a risk-reward issue. It probably made sense for him to come out. However, I still wonder how early he would've been drafted next year considering there will be no high schoolers. You'll have that one year gap where the talent pool is a little smaller.

This draft was considered to be very deep. So being the 15th pick is very impressive.

Maybe he realized he had a better shot at the NBA playoffs than making to the Dance.

Jason Kidd will make the transition easier for him.

Funny. I heard that it was a very weak draft . I guess it all depends on who you listen to.

agwin12...

actually they said it was a very deep draft but there was no SUPER star out there. the primo #1 pick ever. like a Lebron or Melo or Yao etc.

It was a very deep draft. Lots of players that will contribute, probably none that will star. For my money, Green and Paul (and Ian) are the guys that have a chance to star.

I know AW declared for the draft (and signed an agent?) before the new agreement, but if he had waited a year he might rise a few spots just because there were no high schoolers in next year's draft.

I'm not criticizing him, though. If I were in his shoes, I'd take the sure money. Go Nets!!
