I guess I will carry the banner for us.

I think the Mavs will still pull this off. I think the Mavs will come out excited and focused and win game 6 by 13. That will mean another game 7. Toss up at that point.

The Mavs basically played like crap in this game and lead most of the way.

Terry - awful
Fin - who?
Howard - terrible
Dirk - nice boxscore but nothing in clutch situations
Dampier - nice on the boards but 0-fer from the field

ALL of this and it took 30 from Amare and a triple-double from Nash to win at home in game they HAD to have.

The next two games will be played within 4 days, so the lack of depth for the Suns can be a player when it goes 7.

This game was an AWFUL loss, but this isn't the end.

In a final random thought - does D'Antoni piss anyone else off? This guy talks like the Suns are unbeatable. Gimme a break.

phoenix won't be able to handle 3 games in 5 days. if the mavs win 6, they win 7. I wish that van horn would get back already, sre could use his size and rebounding ability

its definitely not over

I don't know if the mavs will pull it off but I feel optimistic that they will give the suns a run for their money in game 6 in dallas.

Luckily, the mavs bench is deep but we need some serious productivity from the starters. I would like to see Howard, Terry, and/or Dirk get into a groove. Howard needs to control that temper and stay poised. Stack has played some great ball...I hope he carries that momentum into game 6.

I really hope AJ makes some adjustments in game 6. The same Nash play (pick and roll) is getting ridiculous. They have got to find a way to defend it. I would almost rather see a mismatch on that pick and roll play where the big man covers nash and at least challenges him. If nash out plays the big man and drives it to the basket, at least Nash is having to work for the 2 pts. If nash gives is up the ball to the guy who set the pick, and then drives to the basket...thats fine too. It might be a mismatch and they will probably still convert, but its better than giving nash the automatic 5 ft jumper. That play has been well executed by the suns and poorly defended by the mavs.

The mavs need to hang on here. It is still an uphill climb. Maybe van horn will be able to play in game 6 so we can get somemore size on the court.

The Mavs have been at their best in the playoffs with their "backs against the wall". For some reason, they lose focus when they aren't in a must win situation.

I think we have a good shot of winning this series still. The post above is correct, though. Avery/Dell has got to find a way to defend the pick and roll better where Nash isn't getting a 10-15 foot jumper everytime. Maybe some kind of zone where we can still get to the shooters but clog up the lane a little better. But they haven't called me yet for my expertise.

I'm with you BNS.

D'Antoni doesn't give the Mavs any credit when they beat his team and acts like a jerk after a win. He's a lucky SOB to have Nash and Amare. I hope the Little General gives him a slice of humble pie by winning 6 & 7.

Bottom line is, the Mavs can't let Nash have a big game and let Amare run roughshod and win. As committed as they were in Game 4, they showed none in the 4th quarter of Game 5. I am concerned about Avery's inability in Game 5 to refocus his troops. Not saying Mavs can't win this series, but they need to remain committed to shutting down the Suns transition game and not allow them easy inside baskets in the halfcourt game. It will be a challenge.

Just like they weren't supposed to be able to handle an 82 game season, right?

Man this series is shaping up to be probably the best in the playoffs... and I'm loving every minute of it!

That Miami/Washington series didn't do it for you?
Seriously, this PHX-Mav series might turn out to be the best on in the playoffs, period. Two evenly matched teams going at it offensively. It will be highly entertaining if it goes to a game 7.

I think our guys can force a game 7. Whether they can win it is another matter...I still feel like the potential is there.

I think the Mavs win tonight and force a game 7.

The key tonight will be energy. We need guys like Terry, Howard and Daniels to be going all out.

I think hustle will decide tonight's game. We just looked flat in the 2nd half of game 5.

after such a lackluster performance on offense and defense last game, finleys pride will make him step it up...if not daniels should be getting a lot of minutes
