Juwan Howard's heart virus.

That is all.

I know that that was just a joke but Howard would not have made a difference in this series.

i thought rockets fans would say the refs, or van gundy's big mouth

t-cam,
that statement shows you know absolutely nothing about the rockets and not too much about basketball in general. while we may not have won with howard in the lineup, to say it would have made no difference is idiotic at best. we would have been able to have someone at pf who can defend and score, instead of having to choose defense with no offense(bowen) or offense with no defense(padgett).

Terry and JHo both really came into form in this series. Terry finally looks comfortable taking over the game if he needs to and not feeling like he is stepping on dirk's toes, and Josh just continues to get better. Cant ask for anything more if youre a mavs fan...well maybe we could ask for Dirk to find his shooting touch and atleast hit at a 35 or 40 percent clip???

Juwon Howard is one of the most overrated players in the NBA. When he was with the mavs, all he did was suck shots away from players who could actually make it.

Actually, he was the only low-post player we had at the time, although Calvin Booth was starting to come on at the last.

lets see dirk averaged ~35 when howard was the guy gaurding him and then had a terrible series with howard on the bench. Id say Howard not playing extended the series a couple games...

Honestly, even though the Mavs won and I'm a Mavs fan, I think T-Mac was the MVP of the series, without him it doesn't reach 7 games. The Rox went home last night, but not for lack of this guy doing everything he could to put them in the second round. He definitely served notice that he is an elite player. JET gets the MVP of last night's game, he carried the Mavs on his back.

Howard not playing was a blessing in disguise for the Rockets. That forced them into putting McGrady on Dirk who did a far better job than Howard has ever done or will ever do. And offensively, who do want Howard taking shots away from? McGrady? Yao? Wesley? Sura? James? Barry? I would say no to any of those.

^Um padgent and bowen? Lets not try to sugar coat it here, bowen and padgent are flat out pathetic and having howard and keeping those clowns off the floor would have helped. Not saying it would have made some gigantic difference, but it would have definetly been significant. Howard can drain 15 footers all day long where as dirk was just basically not even paying attention to bowen and doubling on yao because bowen is no threat.

2001%er is dead right on TMac. and i'm a mavs fan as well. TMac is unstoppable and the poor guy just can't seem to play on a team with consistant role players to help him win more games.

Juwan Howard is horrible. Believe me, we couldn't get him out of Dallas soon enough. And McGrady guarding Dirk was huge for Houston. Dirk would have lit Howard up. He may have made some difference but if I'm Houston I'd rather have McGrady shooting the ball than Juwan.

I'm a Mavs fan and the MVP easily goes to T-Mac. No question about it. This guy is unbelievable. All around great player and teammate. That guy is nothing but class!

I happen to disagree with the statement as well, but aren't you being a little overdramatic? I mean, everyone has an opinion.

Sorry. These "you know nothing about..." statements are my pet peeve on this website. They tend to falsely suggest that ANYONE around here has more than a casual knowledge of the game.

A slight oversight on your part - you obviously meant "ANYONE OTHER THAN GS"

of course everyone has an opinion. some just suck. like t-cam's.

like i said, i dont think there's too many people who know anything about the rockets or basketball in general who would agree with his statement. i dont really see how that's overdramatic.
