I believe the party is over (as Dandy Don liked to say). Go Rockets. I understand sports and know not to count on anything until it has happened. I see the Mavericks not getting swept. I just believe that T-Mac seems to REALLY, REALLY want it more than anybody else and he is making the other players around him play better. Van Gundy seems to be a bit better in preparation and game time adjustments, also. Johnson will be good, no doubt, but this is his first Rodeo on the coaching side of things.

I agree with the '94 comment, but there are very few similarities between the 2 series. I don't see the Mavs as necessarily "wanting" it, nor as Avery being able to coach during the game and make the necessary decisions. Things definitely can change, but I don't see T-Mac or Van Gundy giving up anything to let Dallas back into the series.

Mavs will still pull it off. Avery will come up with a yao solution and force t-mac to carry the team by himself.

The Mavs have nothing to stop the Rockets. The Rockets have now beat the Mavs at their own game (high scoring/running). There is nothing else for them to try. The Mavs do not have the ability to beat Houston 4 out of the next 5 games.

I'm not saying its going to happen, but given the Rockets history, I would not be surprised to see them drop games 3 and 4 at home.

Just outta curiosity, where were all these "Rocket" fans during the regular season? It seems with all the NBA discussion we've had on these boards, the Rockets make the playoffs and suddenly theres many, many more Rocket fans than there were before. Kinda reminds me of alotta Mavs fans unfortunately. All through the 90's I stuck by that team, and watched as most Dallasites ignored the Mavs. They started winning, and suddenly Dallas is a basketball city.

corps: a lot of people like me (a Mavs fan) don't get interested in the NBA until playoff time. When the Mavs end their run, I'll go back to being disinterested. The only NBA I watch is the result of a boolean search of "playoffs AND Mavericks."

I'd bet there are a few Houston fans on here that are the same.

As much as I've enjoyed it so far, this series is far from over. Both teams are great road teams and Houston has laid some eggs at home this year.

Fortunately, however, they have really stepped it up and are playing as a team and I can't help but really like their chances.

OK - I'm the original poster of this thread. I still say it's real tough for the Mavs to win the series. They played good in Game 3. The Rockets' key seems to be as much focused on keeping Yao out of foul trouble as anything they're actually doing on the floor with regards to offense, defense, or schemes.

The lights are still burning.

This may be the only series in the history of playoffs and the home team loses all of its games.

The mavs really didn't play that well but they still were able to get a good win.

Game 1: Rockets play well, Mavs play terrible, rockets win.
