since there are no official NIT seeds anyone know how they determine pairings, are there seeds they just arent announced, looking at the bracket i would imagine so......there are a FEW problems with this mainly st. joes and buffallo getting hosed but it makes sense anyone have any other guesses than:

seeds 1-4
maryland
gtown
indiana
notre dame

the home teams that play the winner of the opening round games, also considered by many the last teams out

seeds 5-8
miami(oh)
miami(fl)
va tech
depaul

even tho the homecourt argument doesnt work out here looking at where they are in the bracket would seem to suggest this.

seeds 9-12
A&M
memphis
marquette
arizona st.

seeds 13-16 (i also sorta think these teams got a raw deal, especially vandy)
oral roberts
boston U
vanderbilt
holy cross

now starts the teams that are in the opening round

seeds 17-20
SWMS
org st.
witchita st.
buffalo (should be higher)

seeds 21-24
davidson
denver
kent st
st. joes (should be higher)

seeds 25-28
clemson
northeastern
W Michigan
UNLV

seeds 29-32
TCU
S.C
Temple
Mizzou

seeds 33-36
VCU
San Fran
W Kent.
hofstra

seeds 37-40
rice
CS Fullerton
houston
drexel

like i said there seem to be a few discrepencies but other than that based on where these teams are in the bracket and commo sense of how good they are this seems to be fairly accurate.
comments?

Well if you look at the rankings that are mentioned in another thread, A&M has got to be one of a handful of favorites to win this tournamanet. But I have no idea how they work out there brackets.

I would consider these teams not as "#1 seeds", but as the teams the NIT wants in NY to garner some TV ratings.

but.....if you had to seed them...they would be 1 seeds....

just like in any tournament the "1 seeds" are teams that will bring in big ratings and are given favorable schedules

Maybe, but I wonder how many viewers Washington will bring in for the NCAA's.

well...they will bring in the west coast.....

i would say that washington would bring in more viewers than adding another acc team, those guys are gonna be watching carolina

btw not saying washington will go to the final 4 bc i dont think they will but....if they do it would certainly help ratings on the west coast.
